"Auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant in der Gegend um Eymet blieben wir beim „Walnut“ in Eymet hängen. Schon Tage zuvor war es uns aufgefallen jedoch mangels ansprechendem Aussenbereich/Garten hatten wir es zunächst verworfen. Die Bewertungen ließen uns aber aufhorchen und wir probierten einen Anlauf. Schon beim Empfang spürten wir die Professionalität des Personals. Super nett und zuvorkommend! Ambiente bis hin zu den Toiletten: ein Erlebnis! Und das Essen einfach Spitze! Es wird auch fließend (native) Englisch gesprochen. Dennoch nutzten wir Französisch als Kommunikationssprache. Preise etwas gehoben, jedoch der tollen Qualität mehr als angemessen! Sollte man unbedingt besuchen! Evtl. auch Plätze auf der Veranda frei hier wäre Reservierung hilfreich. Danke für den schmackhaften Abend!"

"We had several great evenings in Café Tortoni, some for meals, some for drinks, once at the Eymet Gourmand Night Market. Great service, good atmosphere, excellent menu and staff (especially Nico) who go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome...and comfortable, we will be back!"

"We came back after our first visit in July 2023 and ordered almost the same selection again. Whilst the wait is a bit long, it’s worth it for these amazingly delicious galettes that this wonderful little restaurant consistently serves (yes consistent 14 months later after first time round! . The staff were so friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend ‘le forestière’ galette as the mushrooms are to die for. If you don’t like mushrooms, try any one of their excellent trout (truite galettes my 9 year old wolfed every crumb. Desserts are also excellent, however my wife, after demolishing her ‘verone’ dessert crepe, declared that she ‘needed a sleep’. A sign of contentment and that I was destined to drive us on to Libourne without any further discussion. This is an excellent restaurant and well worth a visit. We will always come back every time we come to Eymet!!!"

"We had dinner at this restaurant on an unseasonably wet and cool July evening so we were unable to eat al fresco in the courtyard, and it was here our sad tale began. The inside dining room is a very dull setting indeed. It looks...as if it was last decorated in the 90s with nasty wedding venue style table cloths, dreadful lighting and an overall old fashioned look that did not help create any of the ambiance expected in a restaurant with a good reputation. The chef/owner didn't introduce himself, or welcome us in any way that would be considered polite. He simply dragged a blackboard over and proceeded to take our order. I would describe his manner as abrupt and rushed. The food emerged surprisingly fast from the kitchen which gave us the impression it had been pre-cooked. We had a miserly prawn in very salty batter to start and a poached egg with lentils (a kind of egg soup . Neither of which dishes was particularly good. For our main course we chose fish (again a tiny fillet in a gloopy sauce and a filet de boeuf. The beef was reasonable but I struggled to cut mine (it was a little tough with the inadequate knife provided. Why no steak knives? For some strange reason we had to order dessert at the beginning (for the convenience of the chef? both of which were acceptable but had I ordered after my main (normal procedure I would have chosen something lighter. The wait staff did their best in a very fussy and unfriendly manner it seemed they were terrified of making a mistake. They presented zero personality. The owner/chef seems to spend most of his time lurking amongst the diners. He would be advised to get back in the kitchen and focus on improving the lack lustre food being dished out for quite expensive prices. In short, La Cour d'Eymet lacks atmosphere, is in need of refurbishment and modernisation and serves up food that can only be described as mediocre at best. There are NO vegetarian choices on the menu and the house wine (over 20 euros is available in supermarkets for less than 4."

"This is a typical french bar style of eaterie not a restaurant. The atmosphere is great, the owner is very friendly and the food can't be faulted for what it is. There is a choice of duck/steak/fish/veal/quiche all of which come with a very...generous amount of chips and a lovely fresh salad. For colder months there is cassoulet too. We had the magret which was cooked perfectly and the accompaniments were excellent. For not much more than euros each without wine or drinks it was excellent value. We will go back for sure."

"Carrousel was our rendezvous point for lunch with dear friends and we were delighted with our choice among all the restaurants/cafés in charming Eymet. The café is atmospheric even though it is small but there are options to sit upstairs as well as downstairs and...sidewalk seating would be a great choice in good weather. We selected a variety of items from the menu: homemade vegetable soup, club sandwich, vegetable wrap, and bacon/chicken wrap and they were all fresh and delicious. THEN, dessert! Oh my, the cakes are just heavenly!!!! The coffee is divine! There are small gifts for purchase and a HUGE rack of gift cards, but I was all about the FOOD on this visit. We WILL go back!"

"Correct meals; more for fries that are a swan underneath. Very slow service despite an average affluence. The chef is alone in the kitchen, the room staff consists of two non-professional seasons and the boss, today, drinks the aperitif on the terrace. Friendly staff and boss. The health card was checked. Maybe we fell a bad day. Too bad because with a kitchen comis and a better-trained room staff this establishment would be much more attractive. 2 cups of champagne, 2 tartars (beef and salmon, 2 glasses of Bergerac, 2 gourmet cafés : 68€. Thursday noon (market day to see if the slowness is usual."
