"this is one of three pubs in the village great glen, of which two eat (the other is the pug and greyhound). the building is old and pleasant atmosphere, with very friendly staff. there is a pub garden for sunny days. the menu is meat heavy, but has a few vegan options (burger, mushroom cake) and a vegetarian option (risotto). I had the Harissa skewers for beginners who were very nice, followed by the mushroom cake. there was a lot of baked (and I say that as Carb-Queen), but the cake filling was delicious and the chips were great. the pub is owned by greene king, so the right choice is often limited, but in the night we went, they had something black sheep on. a fly in the anointing was that my wife, who is allergic on earth, had to sign something in the ground (on an ipad) until the day she could eat there. it did not feel very friendly, or as if they wanted to care for their allergy rather than an inconvenience and they did not want to sue them. Moreover, the meal was delicious and pleasant enough. updated by the previous review on 2021-06-27"
