"It took nearly 2 hours (there were 2 children in our party) for our food to turn up and when it did they had forgotten the pork chop and sausage and mash. When the missing dishes finally turned up they were inedible. We didn't want to make a fuss as our family hadn't seen each other for a while and didn't want to sully the moment. Also the older lady behind the bar seemed to have a problem with us splitting the bill! On top of this I realised after we had left they had charged us for an extra pork chop. Having been in the same line of business for a while I understand everybody can have a bad day but I can only describe it as complete chaos it wasn't even busy! Definitely a thumbs down from us."

A good old pub with excellent front of house staff let down by very poor food which was expensive for what we had. The central attraction fire in the main bar was not light on a cold day. Couldn’t recommend this pub now. What a shame.

Although the restaurant had served until 3am the night before, the waiting staff were cheerful and attentive. We couldn't fault the service. We had made a reservation for an early time and were seated in a quieter back area until more guests arrived.

The seven of us could not fault the food which is of a very high standard. Cooked freshly. The only complaint was a lack of heating on the premises. Only a small open fire at one end of the pub which is inadequate for the size of the premises. It was also a bitter day when we went there.

Third visit in as many months and as always, the kitchen and service were in chaos. Young staff with “Attitude” who announced the chef had no commands for a bit, as they were so after, to put their hands in their pockets as if they would say “so there”! Food was good when it came, but will not eat here again after another long delay.
