Chen's Dining - Speisekarte

we went to two consecutive evenings, as we enjoyed the food and quiet atmosphere on the first so much. eating was excellent at both places. the service was also excellent, although a touch less attentive on the Saturday night that was really busy.

Nice restaurant on the first floor of the building, closed to the harbor of Bregenz, The quality of the meal is really good what you can enjoy the Asiatic meal as a good alternative to the traditional Austrian food. The cost/performance ratio of the restaurant is ok and you can be pleased having a dinner there.

Schönes Lokal mit großem Ambiente, Blick Richtung Hafenstadt oder Fahrt. Sehr freundliches Personal, tolle Küche, gute Portionen und geschmackvoll zubereitet. Sehr gute asiatische Küche mit schönem Ambiente. Das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft und frisch, ebenso ist das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und schnell am Tisch. Jeder Gast wird gut bedient und muss nicht lange auf sein Essen warten. Die Preise sind etwas hoch, aber für ein feines Abendessen würde ich es gerne einmal ausgeben.

I was seated quickly, the restaurant is modern but a little soulless. The staff seemed uninterested and food was average, the menu is a mix of Thai and sushi and offers a good range but I personally thought it was expensive and didn't deliver a fresh and vibrant punch that you would expect from this style of food. Maybe I picked an off night, but could be really good.

We had dinner in a group of four - two of us tried the vegetarian dishes, all that were offered, namely three - vegetarian mini-eggrolls, avocado maki, and freshly wokked vegetables. Everything was perfect, very tasty, very fresh. The meat and fish eaters had copious choices and were also very happy with their meals. I was disappointed in Chen´s because more than one thing during my visit. Here the main reason: I arrived early and decided to wait at the bar for the rest of my group. There I was sitting ignored by the staff and rather viewed as peculiar. That even added to my already uncomfortable feeling (of arriving first, being alone.) It took quite some time before one asked if I want an aperitif. After the group was seated it did not get much better. The staff behaved annoyed and gave us a feeling of not beeing very welcome.

Schönes Ambiente drinnen und draußen macht einen guten Start. Freundlicher und effizienter Service trägt zu den positiven Aspekten bei. Einige könnten argumentieren, dass die Speisekarte nach asiatischen Maßstäben recht begrenzt ist, aber mir gefällt es so. Nun zum Wichtigsten, dem Essen selbst. Meine Tochter... liebte das Sushi, meine andere Tochter ist normalerweise sehr wählerisch bei Hühnchenspießen, aber sie hat sie alle aufgegessen. Mein Sohn war begeistert von der Pekingente, da er das noch nie zuvor probiert hatte und es wirklich gut aussah und schmeckte. Auch mein Thai-Rindfleischgericht war sehr lecker. Arrived a bit early so we had some time to read the menu, the menu was cumbersome to read and took us sometime to figure out what was in the menu. It is no Chinese no Asian or even fusion food , it looked like mishmash kind of menu which does not represent any of the foods they claimed , service was good from one lady who she worked very hard to explain the menu with relative good English and a nice smile, others were like robots moving around to get orders and deliver food , like a production line in a factory, Now the food ingredients were good , the meat was nice, chicken was okay and the duck was crispy as they claimed, but the sauces where very strong or just tasteless with no real stru...
