Eleven - Speisekarte

While staying at the hotel I opted for the carvery option in the restaurant. Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, gravy, carrots and potatoes. The beef was a bit over, and the rest was OK.

We did not consume elaborate dishes but the burger was a little too dry for our taste and the tastes of the dishes were not very transcendent. The waitress was really nice which is a good point

Excellent 3 course meal. Great value. Outstanding service from the young waiter from Holm. All food looked fresh and well prepared. To much to choose from. Nice to see some homemade desserts back. Speisekarte ansehen

Was severely disappointed by the lack of snacks displayed at the entrance. Was accosted by a young man with a swooping hairstyle and a lack of manners and good breeding. Will be coming back next fall for more interesting adventures but with a less positive attitude next time around. :

Visited this restaurant today, a very warm welcome . The carvery was excellent with an excellent selection of vegetables , there was also an exselection of other main courses, which were brilliant. The selection of desserts was superb. The waiter,Tommy, was very helpful and attentive. A lovely. Restaurant to visit.

I was very impressed with the food in this restaurant. It was buffet style with great choice plus two carvery meats every night, a great salad bar and two varieties of soup each night. The sweets well about 10 choices plus a great choice of ice cream. Thoroughly enjoyed my food here. Bar was cheaper than their sister hotel. Breakfast was buffet style too with a great variety. Not all that exciting. They charge a levy after 7pm for carvery dinner which brought it up to £26 for two courses which was ironic as we were the only people in on a weekend night! The dishes were okay, very Sunday dinner, and the meat was fine but unexceptional. Dessert was better although a larger serving would have been nice. Nearly £7 for a cider was expensive I felt as we were £100 between 3 of us with just three drinks. Wouldn’t recommend or rave about it.

We were very disappointed by the food served at Eleven Restaurant at the Caladh hotel in stornoway a couple of weeks ago. This first pic on the left is a “Haggis Stack” ordered by my boy on the menu, thinking that it would be a proper haggis stack served at most restaurants akin to the pic on the right. However what was served was a dollop of haggis mixed with sinewy strips of beef and piled on top of soggy chips. This is a lazy culinary effort and I don’t wish for any tourist to be mistaken that haggis in Scotland should be served like that! Don’t take my word for it. Look at the pic. Do you think that’s fit for service? My boy quietly tried to eat as much as he could without any complaints...

Had a very disappointing experience tonight when phoning to make a takeaway order. The manager answered the phone and I thought great! Ordering with allergies usually goes pretty well when speaking to managers, not this time. When enquiring about if a dish had any dairy I was offered a gluten free alternative, an entirely different allergen, without checking if the gluten free option contained dairy. When I reminded him that it was dairy I was enquiring about and asked if he could maybe check the ingredients so I could be sure he laughed and I was told mockingly “oh well I’ll ask but I don’t know if I’ll get an answer”.
