"Absolutely wonderful. This was our first trip to Egypt and we celebrated this occasion by dining at Sabaya on our first night in Cairo. Since it was Ramadan, we chose this restaurant particularly since they served a traditional Iftar meal (which ends the daily fast). Upon arrival, we were greeted with warmth and grace and shown to our table for what turned out to be a fabulous evening. We experienced tastes we hadn't had before .. one dish was more flavorful than the other. Portions were very large and, in fact, there was enough food for at least one more person. Service was impeccable .. attentive, yet unobtrusive. We started with complimentary juices (the date and apricot nectars were sweet and delicious and re-filled upon request). The menu included a wide variety of traditional Egyptian food, including grilled meats, vegetables, rice, bread, salad, hummus and so on and so on. The meal ended with a selection of delicious desserts. Throughout the meal, which lasted several hours, our gracious server check in with us to see how we were enjoying our meal and whether we needed anything. The restaurant's decor is beautiful, tables are large and there is space between tables (not always the case). This allowed for a quiet and private atmosphere which we really appreciated. As a matter of fact, we enjoyed Sabaya so much that we made an additional reservation for our last night in Cairo. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant."
