"We had dinner at Le Pauly on our last night in France. We were seated promptly and quickly asked for our drinks order. The waitress was rather particular about the order in which she took our food : set menus first, then starters then mains. She got a little exasperated with me when I ordered the adult starters before the children's menus. Food came quickly, with our starters arriving with the children's main courses. Although the salads are in the entrée section, they are huge and could easily be had as a main course! I had the perigord salad and my husband had the caesar salad - both were very nice. The children's mains (chicken fillet or cheeseburger) were very filling and well received. My entrecote was enormous - a little overdone and tough but the cassoulet was tasty. The children had to wait until we had finished our mains before the dessert order was taken, which was a shame as the adults did not order. Again, desserts orders were taken in a particular order - adult portions first (eldest had a very nice creme brulee) then the ice cream flavours on the children's menu. An incorrect flavour was served but we did not send it back, as son was happy to have the vanilla. Overall more positive than negative, cooking and service a bit hit and miss, but seemed like a good place to drink, and we certainly left with full stomachs."
