Good welcome, well served, good cooking thanks to the chef. The board at the entrance is catchy. Here we epluche on emince etc... C is fresh.

Best food, best service in Cherbourg .. packed with locals, very clean, great menu, excellent quality .. had steak one night, burgers for lunch on a other day .. reasonably priced .. friendly staff .. loved everything about this place! Speisekarte ansehen

Frankly disappointing. The server is not friendly. The thyme lemon bar is in curry and the fish has no taste as the vegetables. Heavier lemon pie and sweet archi, served with Chantilly. I couldn't finish. Fortunately the person at the bar catches the final impression.

The lamentable tone is quickly given. the waitress is not professional at all, but we quickly understand why. The boss preaches her in front of the clients all the time. Later, I point out to the waitress that my plate sauce was delicately dressed on the ground leaving a large trace of fat visible on my shoe. I see. more

For various reasons I have been visiting/travelling through Cherbourg for about 40 years and have visited all of the eateries at some stage. Cafe de Paris,Le Vauban,La Cale, Le Commerce etc... La taverene recently opened in the place of a failed pan-asian restaurant called le Taipan and has been transformed into a smart Brasserie with a simple but attractive menu. Good selection of wines. Chose 6 oysters from Fermanville followed by a Choucroute au Fruits de Mers. My wife had Dos de Cabillaud a l'aioli. Both were delicious.
