"Tucked away in a quiet and charismatic village, 4 or 5 miles from Forcalquier, the chances are you will have to drive to get there, but the views along the way are superb. We visited on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews, but unfortunately did not experience the same high standards.The score for starters was 0:1, with the tarte au chevre having a damp, soggy base. The dried beef with parmesan and salad was superb, but then it is not a complex dish to prepare.Mains fared better, with both the pork and lamb dishes being superb, the vegetables cooked to perfection including melt in the mouth sauteed potatoes. Call it 1:1 for mains!Dessert was again 0:1 I'm afraid. The guest who had soggy tart for starter, was served a so called crumble which had been mixed and mashed in the dish so it also was soggy with no sign of any "crumble" left. I am afraid she left the restaurant with a dim view of the place. My own tarte au citron vert however was excellent, and I would love to have the recipe.The biggest disappointment was the waitress, who despite having (American) English as her first language was distant to the point of being rude. Example, after clearing away mains, returned to our table with the dessert blackboard, literally threw it onto an empty chair, and walked away. No "would you like a dessert", or any such comment.So sorry, such mixed quality in the dishes served, along with grumpy service, doesn't deserve a score higher than 3. Disappointing as the mains really were excellent."

I fought with friends and family for dinner and was not disappointed. he began with some amazing margaritas and continued to steaks, kartoffels and sweet. steaks were amazingly delicate with a coating of mushroom powder. my man had wild boar with carrots and a luxurious sauce....Desserts were all homemade and wonderful. the journey worth it!

We ate outside in the covered area just across the (very quiet) road from the restaurant and we had the beef fillets (which had been recommended to us). The fillets were very delicious and cooked just as requested. We also enjoyed the starters and deserts....The service was friendly and helpful. There was no problem having our dog with us. Altogether an enjoyable evening.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends which combined the friendly warmth of Maryvonne and the culinary skills of Marc. There was a good variety of meals and we were all well satisfied with our respective selections. My generous beef dish...was cooked exactly as I had requested and the crumble was delicious. Located in the small village of Pierrerue about 5km from Forcalquier I would strongly recommend the drive.

After a tip from a norwegian friend with a house in the area we planned a visit to this little town in the countryside in Provence. We were told that this is the best beef around and it was! Tasty and tender as a good beef should be.Not only the beef but all the different dishes we tried on two different visits are great!The food is prepared and presented with a focus on flavor with local touch. This is real good coooking in a small town in the "middle of nowhere". The service is great and personal in simple but charming surroundings.The Escargots or the Gazpacho as starters are also great choices!We will be back many more times.Only take cash so remember to bring some :)

Went here on a Saturday night in early June. The bistro is set in a small village near Forcalquier and even outside had a typically Provence sort of welcome. Inside did not disappoint with a subtle and soft dining room with a nice low lit bar. Not garish at all. Service was very efficient and welcoming. I had home made pate and then a perfectly cooked duck breast served with lightly sautéed potatoes and legumes. All in all a perfect plate and I am very fussy about my duck! To drink I had a Demi litre of the house rose which was also well chosen and first rate. We visited the restaurant during a one week stay in Pierrerue; this was the nearest restaurant and it turned out to be somewhere we would have happily traveled to! we were there for early dinner, 6 adults our one year old. The owner was very welcoming and...the waitress lovely, really getting out of her way to entertain my daughter (who in return? was on best behaviour); we really appreciated this. The food was amazing throughout: some of us had a gazpacho, perfectly balanced and seasoned, even the toddler loved it.
