Lovely restaurant. Great host, he walks you through all the options and make great recommendations. We had a vegan in our group and they were able to make a special which he loved. Highly recommend this place

Enjoy good food, but do not like the clinical atmosphere of many restaurants? Then this is the place for you have managed to combine a professional service with a relaxed atmosphere and the food is always excellent.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal at this restaurant , it has a delightful setting and very attentive friendly service. The food was some of the best we have eaten in our two week holiday . The mussels in Saffron were delicious and the lamb amazingly tender . We willDefinitely return and highly recommend this place . Definitely book ahead to avoid disappointment . Speisekarte ansehen

We had a delightful evening in this restaurant in which the host ,and his wife the cook, are the owners. The interesting menu was delivered and explained with a flourish and the food was very good. The lady of the house came out to visit...her guests in the latter part of the evening which was a nice touch. We enjoyed the quality of the local wine and later came to realise the variety of the latter that is available. The restaurant is small and you will need to book. Definitely worth it.

Write this because the recent review on this page for Le Monteil is from 2018, and also because we have heard in Barjac that the restaurant had changed hands and is not what it was. Not true! We had a very good lunch today, and the owners (before house and cook) are still the same and the food is probably even better. My only little nigger is the wine list that is limited and not all the interesting. Very easy to find that my favorite local restaurant is still strong and definitely hasn't gone down! Do not miss when you visit Barjac, but make sure to book

No frills but great food cooked by Madam Patron Carole Courouble and served by her husband who carefully goes through the menu written a a blackboard . The profiteroles are a speciality and must be sampled . They close Monday & Tuesday . Very popular so must book . Menu changes weekly . Local Barjac wine , Red or white is best value by carafe .We had kidneys in mustard sauce , the rabbit was delicious . We ate twice recently and if it rains there are tables in bistro setting inside . It is beside the Chateau with a view of the county side . Meal for 2 incl wine € 70 . It was nearly always full, so you always have to make a reservation. We arrived and were given a table, but another couple preferred our place. So we swapped and the owner gave us an apertive on the house: a nice start.We ordered starter, main dish and dessert.The waiting times for the food were exact what you would expect. My wife had seafood and she really loved it. I had an ovendish with aubergine, minced meat and cream. The only drawback was that it was very hot and i had to wait a long time before I could start. But that was not a problem, it was delicious!Also the dessert was fabulous. We have been eating at other places for the same price, but here you definitely get more. Thanks agai...

It's very rare I feel compelled to write a review literally as I'm home from the meal, but I want to write it whilst it's still fresh in my mind!We're on our honeymoon in the Ardèche and tonight we decided to give the barbecue a rest and eat out;seeing as 2 weeks ago it was our wedding day!. I'm so pleased we did!One word WOW! Although that barely does it justice! It's almost like you can taste the passion with which the meal is cooked. I can't describe how delicious each course was!
