"My wife and I ate at this 1* Michelin restaurant on the edge of Grasse in Maganos last night, and it is by far the best new discovery in the Côte d’Azur we have come across this summer. The restaurant is family owned and operated, featuring Sébastien Giraud as the head chef and his wife Madame Giraud as the maître d’. The location offers a beautiful view down through the valley of Grasse, and it is relatively quiet even though it is on a main artery into Grasse from the east. There are only 15 or so covers, and this – in my opinion – is a benefit to patrons both in terms of quality of food and service. The food was absolutely excellent. It is not fussy per se, but features local seasonal ingredients, which is obvious from the first dish. It is creative as well, but not in a way that gets in the way of the taste of the food. On offer is either a 3- or 4-course dinner, at prices of €39 and €55. For quality of the experience, this is outstanding value. Wines are readily available by the bottle or glass, with the latter offerings well-matched with the food and not “over-the-top” expensive. I had fresh tomato and crabmeat starter, followed by the turbot, then a smoked chicken in a lovely broth, and a marvellous finisher, opting for cheese rather than desert. The cheese was special, in that it was a creamy and rather light cheese mousse with summer truffles. All dishes are modest in size and prepared with seasonal (and locally-sourced) ingredients, garnished in a way that makes the flavours come to life. Nothing about the food was disappointing! The service was also excellent, with Mdm Giraud assisted by her very capable son in serving diners. Both French and English are spoken. There is no air at all about this place, which is casual and inviting. With outstanding food, excellent service, a pleasant ambience, and good value, Au Fil du Temp is one of the best finds in this region I have come across in some time, and I highly recommend it."

"We stopped for a coffee and a bite and it was 100% O.K. ---but I left my bag hanging off a chair ,noting of value , but with my wife's clear precription glasses in its case, she was wearing her sunglasses ---at "home "later that day the sun went down and she wanted her other glasses... I found The Pink Croissant on google , called them and wnt back the next day ; to pick op the glasses, thank them profusely and to have another great coffee and snack"

"Basically this is a "Poissonnerie" or fish market with a chef attached. The accommodation is pretty basic but the fish and shellfish are of the freshest and the cuisine is of a high standard. You can compose your own shellfish platter from a substantial menu, or have one of the many standard compositions. Alternatively generous portions of five or six types of fish are available, and absolutely none are fish farmed. On certain days a home-made Bouaillabaisse is available to eat on the premises or take-away. A small selection of deserts are available, also coffee, but this place is like a brasserie and no-one will encourage you to have a three course meal. Good fish these days are a luxury and the prices are not particularly low, but as though to compensate the price of wine at this establishment is really reasonable. Try this unusual location - you will not be disappointed."

"Un repas en famille (5) dans ce restaurant que nous connaissions déjà. Tout s'est mal passé: trop d'attente pour les apéritifs ( 20mn), quelques olives seulement pour accompagner. Les entrées beaucoup moins copieuses que la fois précédente ( menu à 27), les plats arrivent enfin mais nous sommes obligés de réclamer le vin qui n'a toujours pas été servi, déception pour la daube( viande grasse , plat tiède) et le lapin ( pâtes déshydratées immangeables, sauce insipide avec quelques olives dénoyautées!). Desserts bons mais sans aucune présentation! ( menu à 27!).Pas de set de table... Les clients autour de nous semblaient aussi désappointés par le manque d'organisation. Quel dommage , notre première impression était bonne mais cette fois est la dernière!!"

"En balade à Grasse, nous nous sommes retrouvés sur une jolie petite place, bordée de restaurants en tous genres (qui font un peu attrape-touristes à première vue).Et nous sommes tombés sur cette charmante petite boutique de produits régionaux qui propose également des planches de dégustation sur une jolie terrasse avec quelques tables.Nous avons pris une planche pour 2 personnes à 18€ avec olives, tapenades, saucissons, charcuterie, terrine, fromage, confiture, et pain à volonté.Un vrai régal, de très bons produits pour lesquels une jeune femme est venue nous apporter des explications...Parfait, dans un décor agréable et avec un service très sympathique!Le petit plus : on peut acheter ce qu'on a le plus aimé avant de partir.Merci pour cet agréable moment."

"We were looking for another restaurant, which was closed that evening and stumbled across Le Vietnam. Since we were ready to eat something different other than French food, we decided to eat here. The restaurant is very very simple, but the host is very gentle and welcoming. We knew what we wanted as we were regulars at many Vietnamese restaurants in the US, but in this restaurant, the Pho (typical vietnamese noodle soup) and the Bun Bo Xao (vermicelli salad with grilled beef and fish sauce) came only as entree (starter) size. However, the lady said that she could do the dishes as "large" or main dish size as she knew that this commonly done elsewhere. They were both prepared well, tasted fresh, and were satisfying. The food is healthy and light. The Pho could have used more different kinds of meat and basil, but again, this is not a place where their specialty is Pho and I assume that nobody orders it as the main dish. My 4 yo daughter had wonton soup with noodles, and she loved it. If you don't care for ambience but want a break from French food, this is a good place to stop by."

"In my Englishness I decided to take my family here out of homesickness, this restaurant brought us a whole other kind of sickness. Even being from the land of questionable kebab meats, I feel entitled to write about this devastating establishment, tested the waters with 4 poppadoms, this analogy doesn’t fit the quality as I was greeted with a plate of poppadoms dryer than the footwear of Mahatma Ghandi himself, tryed picking one up and was left with a big hole in the thing and dusty fingers, not for the first time tonight, as I had previously picked up the dust coated glass to pour out beer that was about as warm as my sisters vindaloo. As for my food (a prawn tikka masala) which came out pleasingly/alarmingly fast! However served with a smile? Absolutely not outcome the so called waitress with a face of discust, which is completely acceptable if she had spent the previous minutes in the kitchen. However the curry was something that I wouldn’t feed to my dog, and I’m sure a homeless wouldn’t leap at the offer, tried to eat as much as possible and I am impressed with 2 forkfulls swallowed before joining my families queue to the toilet to vomit before salmonella kicks in, this isn’t an exaggeration although the owner didn’t have to question the sudden popularity of his toilet facility, because atleast the bog water was probably an acceptable drinking temperature. Long and short of it, I payed the bill and evacuated, never to return under any circumstances, what a terrible restaurant!"

"We went back to this lovely cafe three times when we spent the day in Grasse. They have a very good selection of cakes and biscuits as it is a Patisserie as well as a Saloon de the. We also had a very nice salad for lunch from a selection from the menu which included hot dishes as well as sandwiches. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was very reasonably priced. The cafe is close to all the museums and attractions in the old town. Well worth a visit."

"Bonjour on y était déjà allé et pas déçu mais là c'était ...En premier pas de proposition d'un apéritif. En suite j'ai du me lever pour aller chercher les menus , les commandes prise à la va vite . L'entrée servi 45 minutes après et pas correctement, en faite que l'entrée de ma maman a été servi pour le reste on attend encore, au bout d'une heure montre en main sans nouvelles de la serveuse ,j'ai régler une entrée ,elle m'a dit que le reste arrivait et je suis parti pas une excuse de leur part, si il avait des clients j'aurai compris mais là une autre table de 3 , 6 en tous dans le resto c'est inacceptable"

We got a mix of cheeses, one of meats and a salad. plentiful quantities, not high prices for the tourist resort. on quality, especially sausages and cheeses, I hoped better. there is no selection of local products, those served were industrial. probably give the best on the dishes of the day. personally high expectations read reviews, but I did not find feedback."

"Due to the reviews in Tripadvisor, we came to dine at this restaurant. It didn't disappoint! It seems that it's run by a husband and a wife, and the lady is very warm and gentle. We sat downstairs where we could see the chef cooking and my husband noticed how passionate he is preparing the food with great care. We had the duck and the prawns and they were both well cooked accompanied by a delicious pumpkin puree. We saw the fried noodles (or pasta) ordered by the locals and it looked delicious! The wine was delicious at a great price. They were very accommodating with 4 yo daughter. I would come back for a great meal again when in the area. Honest food at honest prices!"
