Great business lunch with my investors. Amazing steaks and fantastic service. Thank you for accommodating dietary requests!

Table booked for a group of colleagues. Restaurant chosen specifically because website states a Chefs Set £25/30 Menu is available Fridays from 5pm-9.45pm. Our table was on a Friday evening at 7.30. When we arrived and asked about the set menu, we were told it wasn’t available, and is ‘only available sometimes’. Final bill was over £100 a head. Food and service was good, but menu misadvertising is a very poor show indeed.

The venue is quite standard since the move. The food we had was disappointing although the wine was good. My parter had steak tartar, which was not particularly well cooked. They were also out of the mushroom tartar and therefore as a vegetarian I had to have the chicory salad. This was really disappointing and the walnut made me gag. The mains were better, my partner was happy with his fish but the vegetarian item was disappointing, quite stodgy with no exciting flavour. The service was okay, but nothing here would make me revisit.

I imagined that this new Paternoster Chop House would be a shadow of the original one in Paternoster Square. In terms of ambience, I might be right. In terms of service and quality of food I was wrong. The service was really good, the food was delivered quickly and was cooked to perfection. I was very specific about how I wanted my steak cooked, and the kitchen met the brief perfectly. OK, we were two of four people there and it was early so no waiting issues. Very good experience. Small gripe, no tablecloth like the original and a bit gloomy but other than that, very good.

We went to this restaurant as we had read on their website that this was where the First Dates filming took place. Once there we realised this was not the case as it looked very different. When we asked about this they told us that they had moved and 'not got around to updating their website '! Yes, the restaurant was Paternoster Chop House but the location where First Dates was filmed changed 2 years. Felt conned from their website. We stayed for the meal as it was too late to change as we didn 't know where to go. but felt very very disappointed. The meal was ok and the place seemed busy. Shame their website is deceiving.

We arrived at 7pm yet half the menu wasn’t available! Not a good start. The starters were disappointing as there was nothing I liked. However the main course was excellent rib eye was fantastic and the best steak I had in years. Need to sort out some decent starters and half the menu shouldn’t be gone by 7pm. Another point to mention is the service charge is 13.5% which is higher than the standard 12.5% charged elsewhere. It doesn’t need to be higher so please revisit. There were 2 of us, no starters or desserts just a main course, a beer each and a shared bottle of wine. Bill was £178. I’ll leave you to make your own minds up.

A lovely restaurant at the bottom of the Old Bailey, you feel the history as you walk down. A warm greeting from awaited us from the Floor Supervisor Alice who took us to a well stocked bar before we sat at our table. I loved the feel of the actual menu, it felt like cowhide which added to the ambience of being in a chop house. Our table waiter for food was Alejandro who was very friendly, and after taking our order and asking about allergies, finished with no further questions ....given the proximity to the Old Bailey I found quite humorous! I booked this restaurant after seeing it on the TV. Unfortunately the restaurant has moved to a different location from when it was on the TV. Not a problem as we were looking forward to the food. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and the place was empty. Again, not an issue. It was 6pm on a Saturday in the city so we wasn’t expecting it to be busy. It did however begin to fill up as the evening progressed. The choice of starters was a little odd. There wasn’t a large selection and what there was all seemed a bit strange. Please take this review seriously, because the management team won 't. In summary the food was extremely good but took so long to arrive that a McDonalds burger would have been just as welcome, and the enjoyment of the food was compromised. The efforts to make amends at the restaurant were extremely poor, hence no hope of them taking this seriously Visited on a Saturday evening over Valentine 's weekend, and it was pretty quiet, maybe 11 tables occupied, which it was why it was so surprising that we had to wait so long for food.
