"A more honest, welcoming and delicious restaurant you will not find. Monsieur Brouard and his wife are charming people and the dishes they serve are tasty and excellent value. There is a wide selection of galettes and crepes with the Van Dames a particular favourite....I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Be sure to get there early for lunch or dinner as tables go really quickly if you haven’t phoned in advance"

"Actually our second visit we went first on our drive down to the Dordogne, loved it so much, made sure we went again on our way back to Vendee. Despite a hitch with the booking, the lunch was again absolutely incredible. Complimentary amuse-bouches ..seared tuna or a creme brûlée made with foie gras sounds weird, but was delicious, so clever. Then came another complimentary taster, a melon sorbet with few strips of raw or cured beef, and a bit of meat sauce. Again, sounds strange, but surprisingly tasty. I had the steak, my wife had the Tuna Rossini (again, a new taste for us), both were simply inspired and beautifully cooked. But it was the dessert which blew my mind a chocolate thing which if I described would lose it's magic just heavenly, and I thin the best pud I have ever tasted. We have some foody friends we will be sending here, and will return to stay the night, simply to try the food again. I know there are many star reviews here, and I cannot stress how well deserved they are. The Chef is clearly passionate, and was keen to make sure we were happy. "This place is great, and very good value. The views from the terrace are stunning. The owner is very friendly, the thing some people need to understand is that this is a two-person organisation with a seating cover of over 30, so if you're wanting a quick in and out dinner with service like a top restaurant this is not going to be for you. But if you want a nice relaxed meal in a lovely environment with a great view and great food and a happy to just chill and relax then this place is a must."

"Second time we have been here within the month and again it did not disappoint. There were six of us and despite not making a reservation they found two tables for us and pushed them together. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was...delicious. The dorade royale was perfectly cooked and flaked apart, the three portions of lamb were equally well cooked with very little fat and the two venisons were pink and perfect. The small courgette 'souffle ' was also a perfect seasonal vegetable portion. The desserts also did not disappoint, although the creme brûlée was a bit 'eggy ' rather than creamy. A great lunch and no doubt we shall be back again!"
