[Review for the restaurant] The selection on the menu is not way too large, but everything I and my family members 4ppl in total) ate tasted phenomenal and the general ambiente, service and feeling was perfect. I would recommend it anytime.

Stayed at Gasthof Sonne in October 2018 and really enjoyed our time here! It is fantastically located right in the town center making it the perfect spot to explore Schiltach from. The bar and restaurant in the hotel has great food and is a huge plus to staying here.

Die Gegend, in der sich das Restaurant befindet, ist wirklich schön, und ich fand es toll, dass das Dorf auf irgendeine Weise versucht hat, touristisch attraktiv zu sein! Es gibt viel zu sehen und zu erleben, darunter auch nette Restaurants wie dieses, wo man sogar übernachten kann. Wahrscheinlich würde ich wieder hingehen, es sei denn, ich möchte etwas Neues ausprobieren, aber insgesamt habe ich einen sehr positiven Eindruck gewonnen, und das Personal ist super freundlich.

Delightfully well appointed, with a spacious room looking out over the market. I slept with the windows open and the shutters closed to hear the fountain in the market place all night, and the comes of the church clock across the yard. Lovely staff, and the place right in the middle of the historic town Centre r Roth so much to see. The wi fi is non existent, but the management explained that it is a problem with the Telecom provider in the area, who have not upgraded the system since 1642

Es war sehr charmant! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Bett war komfortabel, und sie stellten ein schönes, großes Reisebett für unser zweijähriges Kind zur Verfügung. Es gab reichlich Parkmöglichkeiten direkt gegenüber. Das einzige, was man bedenken sollte, ist, dass die Fenster zum Platz hinausgingen, wodurch es draußen sehr laut war. Wir konnten die Fenster nicht öffnen, um den Raum abzukühlen, als es Zeit für unser Kleinkind war, schlafen zu gehen. Abgesehen davon ist es ein großartiger Ort zum Übernachten und in Fahrdistanz zu mehreren Sehenswürdigkeiten der Umgebung. Ich würde diesen Ort empfehlen!

The Gasthof Sonne is great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The washroom was clean and modern as well. The floors creak a bit, but this is to be expected from an older building. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The hotel itself is beautiful, and Schiltach is amazing as well. There are trails around the village that are worth investigating as well; a map can be picked up for free at the tourist office. The Gasthof restaurant is very good as well, with many local dishes. The cafe in the square across from the hotel is worth a visit as well. The service was very good, the family that owns the hotel is very welcoming. The main selling point for this hotel has to be the location and the building itself. It feels like you have time travelled. It even had a rotary dial phone that looked like something you would see it in museum. We stayed in the romantic room which was aptly decorated with flower petals and all. It was indeed very romantic. You have the view of the small intimate market place from the window. You have everything you need in the room, even a TV! Not that you will be watching TV if you are visiting this area. We loved the breakfast, it's the usual thoroughfare, nothing fancy but good enough to get your day started.
