The food was overly salty and the lack of vegetables was disappointing. Two children did not receive any vegetables until after the adults had finished their appetizers. It seemed that staff training is needed in order for them to better perform their duties.

Always love coming here for the fish and chips, and my husband loves the burger. Squid starter is very good too. Always has a great range of beers with many local ones. They offer you a taster if you cant decide which to have and served at a suitable temperature. Lovely light spacious back bar to eat in. Staff always pleasant and welcoming.

The last time we dined at the Dragon was a few years ago and we had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, this time was quite different. We both decided to order burgers, which were quite large but dry and heavy. They were difficult to chew and we only finished them because we were hungry. The accompanying chips were okay, but overall, these were some of the worst burgers we have had in a long time.

You can order to eat in the bar or the restaurant itself. We found our food to be very good indeed, while also being reasonably priced. As a party of 4 two guests had the steaks which were pronounced as excellent. One guest had fish and chips which was also very good while I had the gammon, which was lovely. I also had the cheeseboard to finish which I can heartily recommend. Overall, essentially good pub-style grub at a good price. The service was also good with staff being very attentive. Our wines were very acceptable for the money.

My wife, two friends, and I went to The Dragon for dinner after not having been there for over 12 years. The restaurant has undergone a complete transformation with new, tasteful decor. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Friday night and the place was bustling with a lively atmosphere. We sat at a table with a view of the square and were attended to by attentive and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. My wife's fish and chips had soggy batter, and my sirloin steak, ordered medium-rare, was overcooked and much smaller than the advertised 8oz.
