Absolutely exquisite Thai food … best I’ve tasted outside of Thailand… ate in the small restaurant (which was spotlessly clean) … attentive service by the waiting staff .. a gem of genuine south east Asia ding in York

A hot and tasty Thai green curry. Authentic Thai taste with generous portions too. Chicken satay just average but the curry was the main reason I was here and it hit the c spot. Unofficial Carpark in the garage across the toad. Enjoy!

What a surprise booked a table for 4 of us at what at first looks predominantly a takeaway . Anyway we were welcomed warmly to the small dining area. The food was delicious and the service excellent and very good value for money. Would highly recommend. Speisekarte ansehen

We read a few of the reviews and decided to give it a go. We love Thai food and this restaurant/takeaway serves some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had. It’s a small restaurant but what it lacks in size it makes an impact with its food which is delicious and as many people have said, the best outside of Thailand. Definitely highly recommend

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, as it was conveniently located near our weekend accommodation. The food arrived promptly and there was a wide variety of options to choose from. We enjoyed a delicious meal at reasonable prices for York. It's definitely worth taking a short walk from the city center to visit this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Called in for a takeaway on a Saturday evening wile staying overnight in York. Ordered a sharing platter for 2, beef massamam curry, spicy noodle (with chicken and few sides. Very polite service, very speedy preparation while I was waiting. The food was absolutely delicious, the massamam curry was the best we have ever tasted, the beef perfectly cooked, the noodles were indeed spicy Speisekarte ansehen

We placed a takeout order that arrived over an hour late. Initially, we received the wrong order, and when our correct order finally arrived, it was missing main items and cold. After contacting the restaurant, they resent the missing items but promised a refund. Despite following Just Eat's instructions, the restaurant refused to refund us the over £60 meal and refused to discuss the matter further. The customer service experience was extremely disappointing. When we called back, they denied that any mistakes had been made.

We had a great experience dining in at this restaurant. It felt like dining in a busy delivery/takeaway restaurant, as that side of the business seemed very popular. The staff were excellent and the food selection and quality were top-notch. We ordered the mixed starter, which was plentiful and delicious. The main dishes were also delicious and served in generous portions. The only downside was the slightly long wait between the starters and mains, but it was understandable as they were busy with deliveries. I highly recommend trying their Thai food.

We love this local restaurant and hadn't been for a while due to Covid. We booked for Saturday Evening, and glad we did as they don't have many tables. We shared Spring Rolls to start ,then the Massaman Curry and a spicy Stir Fry, (sorry I forgot the name)! Everything was so good, service is great and I am so glad they survived the Pandemic, they work so hard and are always busy with takeaways. I thoroughly recommend The Monkey The Dog if you like Thai food, it's a great little restaurant and i feel lucky to live closeby. Just make sure you take cash as they don't accept Credit Cards.
