The roast potatoes, the gravy, the greens, and the delicious meat, except for the Yorkshire pudding which is totally acceptable. Well done for the effort it was excellent. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations. While nothing was bad enough to warrant sending back, I was left feeling disappointed. I started with the Honey Butter Squid, which resembled Chinese sweet and sour balls—greasy, deep-fried squid that predominately tasted of oil. At least the squid was cooked properly, but the dish lacked flavor. For the main course, I had the King Prawn Spaghetti Nero. It was supposed to be cuttlefish, but the server informed me that they were out of it and had substituted king prawns, which was fine. I was forewarned that the dish had a strong chili flavor, which I found to be perfectly balanced—hot enough to be enjoyable without overpowering the tas...

I had the pleasure of visiting The Swan in Pangbourne for the first time, and it absolutely deserves its 5-star rating. I can't wait to return! This charming restaurant was the ideal spot for a 3-course lunch with my beloved husband as we celebrated our 31st anniversary on December 27, 2017. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
