"It is a simple restaurant at the roadside of this drive through village famous for the castle up on the right side of the hill when you leave the village towards San Sebastiano. Stop for lunch! You will not regret. Dinner by reservation only otherwise it might be closed especially during the week. This family run restaurant also serves as a community house for the elderly of the village. Then they use the tables to play cards or discuss about the good old times. In winter you sit inside and spring summer and fall you can enjoy to sit outside. Simple furniture, house wines, a small selection by the bottle. And then there is the food. Excellent. Slow food .. We called ahead for a table of 4 and realized to be the only dinner guests. A friendly welcome as we are no strangers to the place. We come here for many years. The typical questions about fizzy or still water and the color of the wine and then the feast started. Cold cuts km zero followed by wedges of bell paper with olive oil and anchovies, Russian salad (not popular in Russia I think). And then they surprised us with beef Carpaccio. It was topped with flakes of Grana Padana cheese, olive oil, lemon and plenty of thinly sliced white truffle km zero. This was a joy together with the Dolcetto, a local wine km zero again. (km zero is in fashion in Italy signifying that it didn't had to be transported by truck from far or even imported by airplane of ship). And this was followed by a generous serving of home made ravioli with goat meat ragout. The other option would have been fettuccine with mushrooms (black trumpets). After that we called it off as we had enjoyed this feast very much and were no longer hungry. The portion was plenty, but not exaggerated. So we took an ice cream as desert, home made. Another pleasant surprise was the bill. It was very reasonable. Thank you. If you don't need Riedel glasses and white table cloth and have a bit of time to enjoy then I highly recommend this place. It's delicious and very sympathic."
