"We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff. Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well. I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavour Toilets clean and well looked after"

"a wonderful place to visit. the staff was very friendly, attentive and knew the menu and could explain, advise and describe. on the way to our garden table we were immediately offered water (a warm day) and a bowl of water for our little dog. nothing was too much annoyed. eating was delicious and well prepared and far over a 'normal' pub standard. highly recommended."
