"So Coté Jardin is in our neighborhood. We moved to the Petit Juas section of Cannes not that long ago. Just a 3 min walk from our house, Côté Jardin had been recommended to us to try but we had just not gotten there when over the holidays (end of 2016) we saw that they were closed for renovations. We vowed to go as soon as they reopened. So on their 3rd day open we stopped in for lunch. Of course never having been before, it is impossible for us to compare before and after renovations. And it was not until we read the local paper a couple days later that we learned, the restaurant had new owners as well as being renovated. So this is a review of the new Côté Jardin with no prior knowledge of how it was under the former owners. First, we had a lovely lunch. We were greeted and seated in their sun room. A tastefully and smartly redone room that is enclosed with sliding windows and a glass roof. The day we went, it had rained but we felt like we were outside because of all of the glass sliders. The perfect way to be "outside" on inclement weather days. We had been attracted and motivated to give this place a try because of their exceptionally well-priced plat du jour - 12€! To be honest I wasn't expecting too much at that price so was pleasantly surprised when we had an extremely tasty and well-seasoned lunch. The presentation was correct but not overly sophisticated but then this is not that kind of resto. (see my pics) My husband got the plat du jour - lapin aux champignons and I had a the pavé de boeuf, cooked exactly to my requested specs, saignant. The staff was friendly, attentive and seemed to have a good handle on running the restaurant. Of course from the article in the Nice-Matin we learned that the new owners are also the owners of L'Antidote, also located in Cannes. Having been well received at a lunch several months back at L'Antidote, we could understand why the new Coté Jardin was running so smooth right out the gate. If I was to give any "ding" it would be the silverware. Attractive to the eye but awkward and slippery in the hand. But this is minor and certainly did not dampen our lovely lunch. We are happy to have this hidden jewel right in our neighborhood and look forward to returning soon. We recommend you give it a try too!"

"We had booked this restaurant as the highlight of our stay in France. On arrival we were greeted by very professional staff and given the most amazing table at the front of the terrace overlooking the sea and promenade. The innovative menu format was intriguing and excellently paired with a personal written introduction from Cristian Sinicropi. My wife and I both went for the menu Degustation. Every dish was an amazing burst of flavour and really showcased each ingredient. If I was to be overly critical this did mean that the dishes were slightly on the small side and with this size it could have done with one more. The evening was going amazingly well up to our cheese course. We were shown the cheese trolley by one of the waiters who instead of describing the cheeses as you would expect merely said these are the goats cheeses and these are the sheep milk cheeses. I enquired about a specific goats cheese and all he said is that it was a goats cheese. I asked if it was hard, he replied semi-hard. I asked if he could give any more detail and he just replied, “No”. I was utterly amazed not only at the lack of information but his complete rudeness. You would never dream of hearing that from somewhere like Le Gavroche. After that he served us dessert and actually started walking off as he completed the explanation of the dish. He obviously didn’t want to be there and this should have been picked up by his manager. This left a very bitter note from the whole experience which was such a shame as the kitchen and the rest of the front of house were fantastic."
