"Superb Sicilian cuisine!! We drove to Castelmola on the recommendation of our hotel. Upon arrival at the top, there is a restaurant busy with tourists on a viewing platform...ignore it! Continue in Castelmola and you come across Gallo Cedrone. Ricardo was an amazing cook/host that is very passionate about eating. We had a pizza and the eggplant abomatin with Parmesan. Bruchetta as a start was a pleasure to load olive oil and beautiful tomatoes with warm crunchy bread. Simple Sicilian food made to an incredibly high standard, with a beautiful view of Etna. Best restaurant in Sicily so far"

"Very bad experience. For the evening booked for dinner and was told that I had reserved a place. Two days earlier called to confirm, and it was confirmed and agreed time of arrival at 20:00. Then we were told that there was no reservation. That they wouldn't be open for dinner. The worst is the sarcastic attitude of the owner who accused us of calling someone who claims he never received a reservation. Very bad experience after climbing The way up to dinner and left to wonder for a restaurant in the last minute, and treated with very rude manners."

"Not much to add to the other 5 star reviews about this true culinary gem... I 've eaten in many great places in Sicily but this is in the top 2 places regarding, well, everything: hospitality, charme/character, quality of ingredients, the dishes/presentation and of course the taste and flavours (those gnocchi are truly from heaven , the wine up to the desserts and espresso. It 's unpretentious and simple (meaning, no fancy designer food incredible Italian/Sicilian cuisine, that left a mark. (I heard that Sicily 's restaurants in general lowered their efforts and quality for tourists in recent years as many can 't really distinguish between good and phenomenal cuisine.. this place thankfully stays true to its rooty. . Amazing experience."

"We found the menu a little limited but managed to find three dishes that we liked plus a shared starter. The pages in the menu covering pizzas were deliberately stuck together that night making those dishes off limits. The starter was primarily if not exclusively cheese. Fried, natural, loaf and rolled into fried balls (we joked the dish should have been called “cheese, cheese and more cheese” . We deemed it okay. My son had the mixed (meat grill. He was served a plate of grilled meat. Nothing else. It was tasty he declared. I had the spaghetti carbonara which was also tasty but fairly large and of rather one flavour. My wife had the swordfish with a tomato, olive, capers and garlic sauce. It was also tasty with an authentic sauce but nothing other than that. We were curious that we each had different cutlery. We drank red wine from the quite limited wine list made more limited because two of the wines were not available. Overall a very average meal served nicely."

"bellissimo e rilassante posto con terrazza con vista sul mare davvero da inquietare. personale rapido al servizio, molto disponibile e particolarmente istruito e il proprietario che, orgogliosamente parlando della sua attività, offre un gusto di vino, tipico e unico di luogo: mandorle di vino. felice di essere stato accolto quasi come una famiglia. "overall excellent. nice antipasti, good English-speaking staff, great pasta, super casatta. the only farewell was the tiramisu we've ever had. it was just a whipped cream. no mascarpone, no eggs yet, is worth going there for pasta, wein and antipasti. just avoid the tiramisu."

"We visited back in September 2018. When we arrived we asked the staff to take our order, once our food had been ordered the waiter went next door onto an intercom system who then proceeded to wake up the chef. After a long 30 mins we received our drinks which were 6 months out of date, either we were in there for more than 6 months waiting to be served or they were out of date upon arrival. We then recited our food, I am a pizza connoisseur so I ordered yes you guessed it a pizza. This was given to me along with a nice and fork in cut. I then proceeded to cut the pizza it was that wet the cheese ran off the pizza. To keep the pizza in tact I had to turn my water based pizza in to a cal zone and eat it like a donut. I would never advise this venue. Also they stored bikes in the restaurant main dining area."
