"Food is average and appropriately priced for what you get. We had a nice I tre rioni antipasti, an average turkey stew and an average wild boar stew, a nice mousse of ricotta cheese as pudding. The mature man who served us was very kind and prepared on the menu. Nice music selection in the background. Unfortunately we finished with a disgusting local digestive that the owner suggested, didn't offered us to taste it first, but made us pay for it. An overall ordinary dinner experience."

"We visited this beautiful local restaurant twice while staying in Vivo d Orcia this May. What a wonderful find. Delicious food all local recipes made by the mum who is the chef of the owner. Great service and a true Tuscan ambience we absolutely loved every minute there. The owner was a wonderful host. Both days we visited the weather was overcast and rainy, the fire was a lovely addition, however if you visit on a fine day and are able to sit on the terrace the views are spectacular."

"We called in here for lunch by chance whilst visiting the thermal springs as it was the only place open so glad we did !! The service was great, the lady in charge translated all the dishes on the specials menu for us and we were spoiled for choice we had to go back the next day to try more dishes! The food was very local recipes and cooked to perfection with a huge range of choices. We had ravioli with venison, pasta with truffles huge amounts of truffles , osso bucco and a local casserole of snails in the two days we were there. Also an anchovy starter and a home made delicious cake for dessert. It was all excellent with friendly helpful staff who worked extremely hard as it was so busy. Thank you, we will always remember your restaurant ."

"Staying in the surroundings we headed towards this small village on the Cassia, where time stopped. The restaurant is rustic, but clean and well maintained, excellent food, from the meats, to the homemade pasta condita in an exquisite way, to the excellent peposo, accompanied by two bruschettes with good oil. Sweet homemade as worthy conclusion, honest account, nice owner with whom to chat. It is worth taking two steps to keep these activities alive"

"È un ottimo punto di ristoro, soprattutto per i bikers in queste giornate di caldo eccezzionale: nei tavoli all'aperto, vicino alla fontana, c'è sempre qualche posto libero al fresco. Il personale è gentile ed efficiente: riesce a soddisfare qualsiasi richiesta, anche le più particolari. L'accessibilità per i disabili è garantita sia nei tavoli all'aperto, sia nel locale interno che rimane a piano terra. Prezzi moderati. Nelle vicinanze è molto interessante da visitare il centro storico, poi suoi scorci pittoreschi, il museo di arte sacra e la torre (biglietto unico di soli 3€ . Tra poco sarà riaperta al pubblico anche l'antica rocca che sovrasta il borgo (dopo circa 20 anni di lavori ."

"This family owned restaurant in the quiet little village of Castiglione d’Orcia is the location of culinary excellence. The friendly chef (a master of food preparation) produces food like an artist. The combination of flavors, smells, textures and visual presentation tantalize the senses from first bite to last. If you are like myself a spoiled American use to large quantities of average food put that behind you when you are here. Quantity is adequate and quality is not to be exceeded. This was our second meal here and we look forward to more before we head home. The chef loves children and his sole desire appears to be your satisfaction. He doesn’t speak much English but we managed very well. This is that special place we all look for but so rarely find."

"We stayed at the Hotel Osteria del 'Orcia for a week. We ate the majority of our meals at the restaurant and were delighted by the food and service. The breakfast spread had everything you could hope for: from freshly made yogurt and locally sourced Ricotta, meats and other cheeses, to a selection of bread, toast and fruit, teas, jams and honey. They also had hard boiled eggs prepared every morning and you could also ask for an omelette or soft boiled egg if you wish. Anna-Maria was there every morning ready to take your coffee or tea order and the following days she would confirm you wished to have the same thing as she remembered the requests of each of the guests. Lunches also had a lot of choice and I would recommend the traditional Panzanella salad. We always looked forward to dinner as the specials changed daily and the menu offered a selection of traditional Tuscan delights. The chef 's cuisine and talent were exceptional as was the staff. Antonio is very professional and friendly. He is very knowledgeable about a variety of wines, local and known favourites, and his suggestions for what wine to pair with your meal are superb! He is also a master of zabaglione which he prepares tableside! The manager Sylvano is very attentive, making sure to stop by everyone 's table to say hello and make sure you are happy with your meal and that you have everything that you need."
