"Very very bad value for money, tiny portions and bad management. I have been to this Leon restaurant in Saran 4 times before and I had got a Leon loyalty card following my last visit. I had always enjoyed it and had moules frites each time. Tonight I went in at 7.45pm and there were very few diners in. Nevertheless, the Manger placed all diners in one small section of the restaurant. Even with Covid. I was concerned when a couple were placed on the small table next to mine half way though my starter. Just a matter of 50cm away, when the whole restaurant was virtually empty. Why would she organise the restaurant like this? Meanwhile, I was so hungry after 7 hours driving I was rally looking forward to a big dinner. I ordered a starter. I had the petits poissons friture with tartare sauce. The portion was so small it was laughable but i did not complain and padded it out with bread dipped in to the sauce. When my mussels came I could hardly believe the small portion. Much less than on my previous visits. Why, i do not know. Something must have happened. The mussel pot they were in was tiny. Not like the ones on sale in the reception area. Frankly ridiculous. It was at this point I noticed that you could order an XL version for only 3 euros more. Too late. Half way through the small portion of mussels the couple on the table next to me set up a facetime with their phone pointing across their table directly at me. The waitress and manager seemed oblivious to this. It went on and on for about half an hour. Why, during these times, when a mask is mandatory in the restaurant and a covid pass must be shown, were myself and this rude and arrogant couple sitting much less than one metre away from me, with no masks, and clearly invading each other's privacy. I also have to ask why a Manager of any half decent establishment, having decided to seat people so closely, would not have a word with the Facetimers. It is completely antisocial. it is not why I choose to go out and pay for a dinner in a restaurant. My mussels and chips was so small and so disappointing i had to ask for more chips and also some more bread. The bread was the only thing stopping me thinking about having something to eat when I got back to the hotel. I had a dessert simply to fill the gap. I did order a coffee with the desert but it didn't arrive. I paid and left and i will definitely not be going back there. Way too many problems and way too much disappointment. Very very bad value for money. I think that the Leon management team at Saran last night should be ashamed of themselves. Is this what going to a restaurant is like now, post Covid......masks, passes, uncaring management, uncaring waiting staff, tiny portions of food for the same money as before, and seating people in one small area, presumably to make them or perhaps people passing by outside think the restaurant is busier than it is. Massive disappointment and a waste of money. All it does is make me not want to go out to eat. Avoid Leon, Saran."

"36 minutes. On a quiet Friday dinner. For moules marinieres. Your signature court. You should've been out of this kitchen in three minutes. Not 36. The frites came 10 minutes later. I was halfway through the mouth when the frits finally showed up. I've never had Moule Frites where the two components arrived separately. Even pubs in England serve this dish better. I was pretty angry. I chose this restaurant because I thought it was fast, simple and tasty. It wasn't one of these things. The mouths are big, but not the best. They're powdery. How they were frozen. The sauce is not great either. My mother is better done, she is from Aldershot not France or Belgium. Staff are driving around to avoid eye contact. No one's offering you another drink. Or bring more bread while waiting for your hand for food. After our forgotten net and another inexplicable waiting, I finally get a large cream brûlée. It's okay, but stone is cold because it's been done somewhere else. If they have stacked them in the refrigerator, why does it take 10 minutes to get to the table? The fridge is 10 seconds walk away. There is hardly anyone in the restaurant and many employees. I'm just running on them because I don't want to spend another 15 minutes trying to catch the eye of the uninterested staff to take the bill. The bill is very reasonable. Under 30 € for 2 complete menus. It can be paid contact-free. We have been paid so much for a main dish in Meribel during skiing. But in these family-run restaurants the service and food are excellent, things really move along and the food comes quickly and tastes great. Staff notice that your glass is empty and ask if you need another. Leon is a chain. I knew it was different. But Moule Frites is the signature court of the chain and so I thought they could do it really much, much better."
