"I'm not going to say this is the best curry take away in London but it does get my full recommendation. Not really for those who don't like spicy food as all the curries have a bit of a kick. Pre-prepared curries are in trays...in the chiller and portions are individually heated, rather than each dish being cooked from scratch, if you know what I mean. I don't know if it's just because of Ramadan right now but what I like is that they change their selections so you can sometimes try something new. I had Chana Chaat today -a spicy cold salad type dish with yoghurt which was very good indeed. Fried spicy aubergine slices were something else on offer recently. Tasty. And they've done a kind of fruit salad which was refreshing in the hot weather. One favourite of mine is Masala Fish which they will serve wrapped in a bread with salad and mint/chilli sauce. Pretty hard to beat. Nice to see a good variety of veggie dishes on offer. Mixed veg chana dhal are staples and there'll be others like okra. They don't have bean curry very often, though which is a shame as they've had some ace black eyed bean curry in the past. Samosas are home made and decent. Not like the chewy ones some places sell. And they have a proper tandoor so naans come out fresh and fluffy. And they sometimes do puddings like rice pudding, semolina or those brown squidgy looking things, the shape of kiwi fruit -Galub Jamun. Staff are friendly and even pick out the cardomon pods from me pilau rice when spooning it out which is a nice touch as I can't stand it when you bite into one of those beggars! It's also right opposite a pub, if you want to build-up a beery appetite first. Not exactly Weight Watchers!"

"I 've been visiting Intrepid Fork for a few months since I first discovered it and became a big fan due to their delicious baked goods and drinks selection. I 've recommended them highly but my most recent experience has put me off it for good. I arrived to meet a friend and expected to just have cake and a drink, but when my friend arrived she informed me that they serve hot breakfast/brunch/lunch dishes too. We both ordered the cheesy brioche with bacon, expecting a french toast style slice of brioche with crispy bacon, but when the food arrived we were repulsed. Two halves of a clearly pre sliced brioche bun, barely toasted, topped with flaccid pale bacon (one piece per half) and worst of all a partially melted bright orange cheese single atop each piece of brioche. Yes, that 's right, the kind of fluorescent plastic cheese you get on roadside burgers. Tasteless and comes between two pieces of plastic. That was the choice of cheese for a £7 brunch dish of 'cheesy brioche '. I complained immediately and, while I said I would scrape the cheese off and eat the rest as I was starving, the waitress (without apologising) took my plate and returned it to the kitchen. No offer was made of a replacement meal, so as my friend decided to bite her tongue and eat her full meal (she regretted it), I was sat there with my grapefruit juice and my (albeit delicious) slice of marzipan filo, still hungry. On what planet is this type of cheese acceptable? Why was I not apologised to from a place I visit often? Why was a replacement dish not offered, or even suggested? To make matters worse, the man I assume to be the manager (who also didn 't apologise) began to root around beneath some shelves by our table which produced the most hideous smell of stagnant pond water and rotten flesh. Makes me worry about the cleanliness of the place as this was right near all the bread and cakes they have in the window. The smell was unbearable and we left. I did not pay for the breakfast, which luckily they didn 't attempt to get me to do. Sorry, Intrepid Fork, you 've lost a customer with me."
