"While everyone else seemed to be having the best meal, ours was sadly lacking. Tomato salad was literally tomatoes. I get that there were balsamic pearls and basil jelly but it was literally a bowl of tomatoes. The elephant garlic was burnt in the veggie main option, leaving me with a bitter tagliatelle dish again it was literally a bowl of pasta with garlic... no bread no cheese The cheese plate was a lump of Stilton and some soggy homemade crackers/biscuits We complained at the end of each course but when we came to pay we had been charged for it all and the bar manager seemed surprised and said the chef would welcome feedback... we had fed back!! The manager took the price of 2 drinks off the bill... poor job. But being British we accepted gracefully and left. Shame as we stayed the night and breakfast the next day showed that the chef could indeed cook!!"
