"We popped into the Swan on the off chance they had a table for dinner. The friendly staff checked, found space and squeezed us in. We had starter, main and shared a dessert which sadly started as 10/10 and wound up at 5. Starting with chicken liver pate and a baked camembert which were both excellent. We followed that with steak ale pie which, once we mixed in the mashed potato had an acceptably thick gravy; had we had chips the pie would have been disappointing gravy in pies should be thick not runny, however flavourful and this was tasty. The pudding was disappointing in contrast to both the main and starter. We had a deconstructed lemon meringue pie with raspberry sorbet. Sadly the sorbet was too jammy, the meringue was not home made and the biscuit base could have been more exciting. Over all, we feel chef could have made simple improvement to the main and dessert that would have elevated the dishes. The staff were great, the value for money excellent; next time we will skip the pudding and give the steak a go."

"Had lunch on a Saturday after a wonderful exploration of the nearby famous medieval church and castle and were most pleasantly surprised. The sort of menu where you could have chosen lots of dishes-between three of us we enjoyed bream, fish and chips and duck...followed by sticky toffee pudding and a frangipane tart. We all agreed that our meals were delicious-hot, fresh, tasty, well presented and from locally sourced ingredients (where possible). Service was professional, unintrusive and friendly. The bar area where we were seated was cosy and dog friendly. Clean loos are always a good point -and not always a given, sadly. The resident spaniel was very attentive while we were eating but I think there was a bit of cupboard love going on there…Would definitely recommend and will be returning."

"Visited on a warm afternoon, having booked a table for Sunday lunch. A beautiful location charming old cider house but I'm afraid, for us, that's where the charm stopped. We went into the bar to order our Sunday lunch, where an older woman barked at my Mother that we needed to have booked to have a roast dinner we calmly explained that we had! Perhaps a smile next time! Next the roast chicken we ordered arrived in good time, thank you the very polite waiter waitress. We were both astonished to find that the small dish of vegetables offered was for us to share 4 carrot batons 2 each; 2 brocoli florets 1 each; small slices of parsnip prob 4 each; red cabbage prob desert spoon each. Needless to say we ordered another portion of veg, beware, this costs £3.50! By the time the extra veg came, my chicken was cold. Anyway, we were hungry after our walk, so ate the lot. Unfortunately this experience has tainted our experience of this lovely place would not go back eat there. 2 x roast chicken, 1 wine, 1 pint cider vegan pud (oh of course the extra portion of veg) cost just over £50. Will go back to our favourite place of The Wheatsheaf at Fromes Hill for our next Sunday lunch out."

"This Wetherspoons is fantastic. The restaurant is very clean, the food and service were great, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff are very friendly. It's definitely worth a visit, as the building is lovely and has a lot of history - apparently it used to be a post office sorting building. I will definitely come back, although I think there might be a ghost or two, but that won't stop us from returning."

"I do not often leave negative cries here, but I feel that I have a moral duty to warn people about this place. I have booked a table for Sunday that has just gone, most pubs in the opposite are packed absolutely on a Sunday so that the actual. it was empty at 1 o'clock had to tell us everything we need to know. we were met by rude fellow workers who have barely spoken and feel uncomfortable what was bad enough but eating. we all ordered the chicken roast and the carrots were raw, not aldente, completely uncooked, the bratkartoffels were also raw on the inside, greasy on the outside, we had a huge piece of chicken meat that was overboiled and all this was accompanied by the thinnest tasteless gravure I had ever had. the only nice things on our plates were the stuffballs and yorkshire puddings, which were definitely out of a bag because of their uniform appearance. we talked to the girl we thought it was the manager, and she just said: I'm sorry about half the sarcastic and went away. it was really the most disappointing meal I ever had, and I wish we had just gone to mcdonalds."

"Staff are very attentive and friendly. Quick to replenish the buffet before it gets too low. Food is hot and well cooked. Drinks a little dear but its almost expected at an all you can eat so cannot mark them down for that. Cleanliness seem good, tables are quick to be cleared and wiped down. Only criticism I have is the decor which is looking a bit tired and shabby. From the mis matched dingy looking seat covers to the masses of sellotape holding the paper to the ceiling. Overall a good place to go especially with the family but needs updating."

"I was in Ledbury for only a few hours and when my stomach rumbled I thought fish and chips. There are three in the town centre and I chose this one as it looked the busiest. I always go for the busy chippy, the food will always be fresher. The prices were good, the menu as expected for a chippy but the staff were chatty and friendly and that makes the short wait interesting when you are just a visitor. A chip shop is a place to find out about the locality or get the gossip. The food was excellent and it’s great to see happy smiling staff behind the counter. I believe it stays open really late and you are also able to eat in as well as take away."

"I phoned up to speak to the place in advance to check if they have any vegan options and was told they could make any dishes vegan. I phoned later to place an order just to be laughed at when asking for a vegan korma....(I usually have this at my local but they seemed to think it was impossible After settling on a mild balti curry I ask for a naan bread... shocker...not vegan. After eventually getting an order together we wait for it to be delivered only to find things missing, we phoned only to be told to keep checking because it'll be there After finally convincing them, we waited a while for them to send it out again and finally ate cold food. I'll stick to our usual Indian next time."

"Really poor Sunday carvery. That was a small amount of need left which I can only describe as looking like a old leather shoe, if that was me I would have taken it away and say we’d ran out rather than have it on show. We all ended up having Turkey as that was the best looking option. Veg was clearly frozen and warmed up. There’s no excuse for not using fresh veg on a carvery. I was also told by the chef to”dig to the bottom of the veg as it will be warmer” and it was luke warm at best. Probably the worst carvery we’ve ever had, wouldn’t recommend"

"Stopped off here on our way back from wales for some lunch. The service was amazing, the two girls at the bar very polite and welcoming and same with the locals at the bar. Lovely little pub. My partner ordered the stack burger and I had the Vegeterian burger and wow it was enormous! The chips were to die for and the veggie burger was so tasty, even my partner (who loves meat) said it was gorgeous so that tells it all. The meat burger had a huge slab of beef it was really juicy tasty. It was fresh, butcher style meat. The value for money here is absolutely brilliant. We both agreed it was some of the best pub food we’ve ever had. So glad we came across this and can’t wait to hopefully come back in the future if we find ourselves this way!"

"Such a cute cafe to meet a friend at and have a delicious cup of coffee or a lunch date. The staff are always very pleasant and polite. My friend and I sat indoors this visit as it was quite cold outside, even though the al fresco tables are a delight in the pretty courtyard. We arrived early and despite the table being reserved for a lunch booking, we were permitted to sit there for over an hour to people watch, chat and have a coffee whilst church street shoppers browsed the lovely shops outside. This cafe is not very big so if you plan to drop in on a weekend it’s a good idea to book a table. The food is delicious whatever day of the week you visit."

"Wow is all I can say. I was booked in at Glewstone Court for an Afternoon Tea with my children. The whole experience was wonderful and we cannot recommend it enough. On arrival, we were welcomed by a immaculate young man, Sam- he couldn't have been more helpful. We were shown to our seats and Sam went out of his way to ensure my children were happy and had the drinks they wanted. The drinks came quickly, served by a very friendly waitress and we began. Initially, it looked as if we were going to be able to finish everything- we didn't! We started with scrumptious soft sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls and quiche. Honestly, the sausage rolls were delicious and the quiche was a perfect size. We paused for tea and coffee then moved onto the cakes and mini-puds........ My youngest is totally in love with the Rhubarb Macrons and could have eaten many more! The cakes are all made on site and the homemade lemon posset was so more-ish. We had a Paris Brest pastry- I've never had one of those before but I'll be looking out for those again. The warm scones were delicious and there was plenty of clotted cream and jam for us to all share. You could tell instantly they were freshly made. In the end, we needed to take some home in a box as we were full to the brim. We met the owner at the bar, who was delightful, friendly and had a little chat with my daughter's toy cat, much to her delight! The staff there were so kind, cheerful and helpful, the whole place had a really warm and welcoming feel. We didn't feel rushed at all- we stayed all afternoon. Glewstone is just outside of Ross and wasn't somewhere that was on my radar to eat- but I will certainly be returning. I spent my Mothering Sunday in a Georgian Manor House eating delicious food with my family- perfect!"

"Absolutely appalling food and service this evening. Ordered £40 worth of food and the quality and portions were very poor and extremely salty. One meal had been bulked out with chips (which weren’t even ordered) and were wet, cold and soggy. When I phoned to complain and asked for a new meal to be sent out , they refused based on the fact it’s a Friday night and because we ordered through just eat, even use the same driver. They even went as far as saying that I’m their online menu the meal comes with chips and when we looked it clearly doesn’t. For this reason and how disappointed we are with the money we had spend they won’t be receiving our custom again."

"I have two big problems with this takeaway based on my experience today Firstly, some of us still take Covid seriously and if you believe this takeaway, according to their hand written sign they only allow two people in at a time. Not when I...was there. people and not a word said, no social distance reprimand given, they only interested in the money they can get for their slop (sorry food) That's the second point. When you pay over your harder to get money, you may be forgiven for expecting a fresh meal, unless going to a JD. Here today bold as brass, they bring in a tray of good knows how old previously cooked chips and dump them in, thinking I must be blind. Needless to say I was not optimistic on my return. I was right as it turns out, because double cooked old chips equals hard mega greasy inedible chips and as for the prawn toast, I am not taking the risk. I just hope tomorrow that I am not poorly. Prior to this they have also messed up orders. I do not know if there is a new ownership, but this place has gone to the dogs and the food is not worthy of dogs. Wont be going back again, wasted my last cash on this place. They need to go retrain at Shun Fat in Bromyard, a proper chinese takeaway."

"Drove home after collecting order to find some missing and most wrong. Lady owner literally declared me and my husband liars and said tough as the cctv showed our order was correct (all 6 family members could confirm order was wrong but apparently I was lying) I sat down to eat our meal although wrong we still have young children who where hungry and I myself being heavily pregnant wanted to eat. Mid way through the meal I got a phone call again from said lady owner, swearing, rude and threatening me! If it wasn’t for the fact I’m pregnant and don’t need to unnecessary stress I would have definitely rang the police to report her! Yet again for the third time the food made us unwell, fish is dry and chips are stale! Avoid at all costs and please do not hand over your hard earned cash to these jokers!!! Not sure how they remain in business. Never in my 40 years on this planet have I come across such bad customer service, makes it worse as she is one of the owners!! Only reason I gave one star is because no stars isn’t an option. Disgusting verbal abuse from her!!!"

"As much as the restaurant is situated in one of the most unorthodox locations one can imagine, it is by no means a reason to not visit Ali's venue. Equally, don't be put off by the fact that for the most part, Ali works on his own! On both those points, I harboured great misgivings about booking a table. I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only did the food arrive in a timely manner (there were approximately 8 other diners there at the time of our visit) and actually quicker than some other better manned restaurants I've been to but the food was delicious, freshly cooked and of a superbly highest quality! We had a great evening and Ali was a wonderfully friendly and personable guy who acted as chef, waiter and very good host. The only thing to note is that he doesn't sell alcohol, and if that's your thing then he encourages you to bring your own. 10/10 for Ali! Definitely recommend it!"

"We did not stay at this hotel just had a table for lunch on the recommendation of my Aunt and Uncle.Had lunch at this establishment last weekend with my Uncle and Aunt who live in Upper Colwall. I was extremely nervous about physically going in to any eatery as obviously you can’t wear a mask to eat! My fears, however, were put to rest with the measures that had been put in place. Tables were set to be socially distanced, the restaurant was spotlessly clean and the staff were very respectful. When the waitress (who I personally felt should have perhaps been masked and gloved up maybe? brought our menus, I asked if they were disposable and she confirmed that they were. Once we’d finished with them, she put our names on them and set them aside for our dessert choice. When the cutlery arrived, wrapped in napkins, I asked if they’d been thoroughly cleaned and she again confirmed that they had been. The glasses were spotless. I felt quite comfortable in the environment that had been created in light of the pandemic. My only criticism would be that I felt that all tables should have had screening next to them it was a little unnerving seeing only a few screens dotted around. I feel that I would have felt totally safe had there been more screens. The toilets were absolutely spotless and very clean, although I sanitised the seat before using the loo!As for the food it was first class we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the Peach Melba knickerbocker glories were to die for!! I would highly recommend The Feathers in Ledbury for a meal at the current time, and as already noted, my only suggestions would be that there were more screens and the waiting staff should perhaps wear a mask and gloves."
