"It is not my first time here .. and knowing what the food was like of course we returned. My son and I had denied ourselves food for the day because we knew what was coming and we went for it. We had Bruschetta with deep fried zucchini flowers. Then we had Carpaccio. I had the beef, my son had the tuna and swordfish. We moved on to the ravioli stuffed with crab and shrimp served with shell food from the sea. After that we had the beef fillet wrapped in leaves (lemon I think). OMG The Chef nailed that to perfection. We ended with a chocolate ice cream in pastry with truffle (for my son) and I took the lemon cake option which I ate. We also drank the local wine and enjoyed the home made olive oil. It is 'Out of this world ' from a food perspective added to which the staff are amazing. It 's a 'no brainer '..... crawl there on your knees if you must but just do it. Very convenient for Sant 'Agata and personally I 'd negotiate taxi rates from Sorrento and actually the staff will help anyway with any plans you have and try to accommodate and assist where possible. The approach to the restaurant is magnificent as are the views. The ambience is amazing and fantastic if you wish to submerge yourself in Sothern Italian culinary delights at there finest get yourself there. You may not choose my particular dish choices but there 's plenty on offer. Additionally very reasonable with charges. You could literally just walk in ignore the menu and just say 'Bring me food ' and it would be fantastic. It 's basically what we did after speaking to the owner."

"Have been a few times earlier, last visit was 2 years ago and I had been very happy every time. I went 2 days ago with 4 friends from Norway, I recommended it based on previous experiences. Such a big dissapointment. For apetizer: 5 mouthfulls of melenzane parmeggiano, 5 slizes of mozzarella, 5 slizes of tomatoe, 5 fiori di zuccini, one burrata and a small plate of fried squid they charged us 80 EUR! It 's a rip off! One of my friends asked for spagetti with seafood (which was not on the menu, but they had no problem making it) they charged 50 EUR. It is pathetic. Another one of the Amalfi Coast 's very nice restaurants have fallen and let it self be a tourist trap. Food was absolutely not worth the price, just plain food nothing special. Franco greeted our table by saying if you are not happy, I will pay. I wish we had said we were not happy. I wonder if he had offered to pay for our lunch. We found it somehow charming when he greeted our table. But that is just another gimmik. He greets every table like that another tourist thing . And then, they have started to play YMCA every day, when the restaurant is full around lunch time. WHY??? Another way to try to be cool? Why not play something Italian, let the tourists get the Italian feeling..? Everything on the Coast is loosing it 's authenticity and I find it very sad. Il Cantuccio has lost it, lost what it used to be a beautiful local restaurant, serving local food with local atmosphere. I am sad. And I will not go back. We felt cheated, and that we had waisted a lot of money. And I felt really bad for bringing my friends there."

"First, this is a high quality experience and not only a dinner. Expect to hop to the first class of flavors with unbelievable friendly service and reasonable pricing! It's not often when you meet a chef creating the menu with love and passion, respecting the clients and offering something truly unique. How would it sound, if the restaurant has like 4-8 clients tops, you dive through insanely well-thought menu, learn something of wine tasting and the local food? And the wines, yep, they have their own brand, and it matches the food perfectly! Get to the details, and try the taster wine with the pistaccio cheese! Every step of the menu was really well thought. The pasta was insane, the fish had the original flavor, nothing was hidden behind spices, what you get is simple and original taste. Our booking was done by reading Michelin recommendations and the top notch reviews. We booked the evening by email, and Giovanna confirmed everything with us before our arrival to Italy. Our first problem was how to get there... well, obviously this quality restaurant has arranged free transportation both ways, so just book and enjoy! What you get with 75 EUR full menu is bargain! This could EASILY be doubled, as what you get is something you can't compare anything unless you spend $300 and up. Remember, it's not only the food, it's the quality of the experience. We ended up buying some wine, and overall it was an unforgettable experience. Plan to go, you won't regret it!"

"In a way I am sad that I found this place because I had hoped to keep it all to myself, most of you hoepfully wont find it so I hope it will be safe from the masses but if you do find it it is heaven on earth, it looks like paradise, it is so simple, so unfussy, so unpretentious, reminds me of how I assume Mexico would be, I have been twice, the first time, the sea was glorously rough and the view looking out was pure heaven. We drove our VW camper down the track and it got scratched, then I moaned that it would be awful as I hated the name but I was WRONG, WRONG< WRONG, it was the sweetest, most unaffected, best little place ever, if you like your fish brought to you to choose, if you like zero pretention, if you like it natural and sweet, then this little place is the place to be...they have swanky places in London going in and out of fashion but this beautiful, inaccessable place is just perfect...last time I went I fell off my little hired boat trying to get at it, banged my head, bleeding but that is the price I paid to just return here..and I will as often as I can escape dreary England, I will get my little hired boat and sail right to the door, leap off and eat fresh fish, beautifully cooked in a place where commercialism and greed have not touched and whoever owns here must just be happy to get up every day and work in such a beautiful location...if I could cook, this is the place I would want to cook in....expect nothing and be dazzled by its simplicity and beauty x"
