"Good service and fast seating on a somewhat busy street corner. The Dorado salad was tasty and comprised of lettuce and tomatoes, ham, shredded cheese and tuna. Tasty but probably not worth the 12.50 Euro. There are very few restaurants around and hence a bit of a captive audience, especially since it is close to the port ferry. This is a solid 3.5 5 restaurant and should not be ignored. Truth be told, this is a beef steaks restaurant. They might be great but I did not try any."

"Fuimos un dia tranquilo de enero y la verdad que el dueño nos dedicó atencion de primera y generosidad. Muy buenas las espichás y la bandeja de gamba blanca, aunque fueron 50 euros, habia que ponerla en diagonal en la mesa porque no entraba de lo grande. Las instalaciones muy buenas, sobre todo la terraza en una zona apartada de la circulación. El barrio pues El Varadero, con sus virtudes y sus defectos. En definitiva, to polluo."

"We were recommended to eat at this restaurant. And we found it to be one of our favourite places. Even we leave in the nearest town Salobreña, we prefer to eat meat at Mesón Antequera in Motril because it is cooked using natural firewood! It should be mentioned that this place is quite popular in Motril, once at lunch time we occasionally decided to have lunch there, but there was a chain and we needed to wait for a free table to sit at. Therefore, fir the rush time it's better to order in advance. It is also a pleasure that the owner is serving the guests too, so you can ask about the history of the place and the name of the restaurant. "Hemos estado dos personas y hemos comido bastante bien, es un lugar de calidad en sus productos, tanto en la comida como en los vinos. Llegamos y pedimos dos refrescos, porque por desgracia teníamos que conducir y somos de 0,0 al volante. Por desgracia porque sabemos que hay muy buenos vinos, incluso para copear. De tapa nos ofrecieron varias cosas pero nos decantamos por las patatas porque mi acompañante era vegetariano. Después pedimos la carta que es bastante amplia y variada y nos decantamos por: el bacalao con verduras y media parrillada de verduras (por sugerencia acertada del camarero, hubiera sido mucho una entera para una sola persona . Aunque tardó un poco, la espera mereció la pena porque estaba muy rico todo. En total nos costó 32,50€. Nos hemos quedado con ganas de probar otras cosas del menú (los huevos rotos y la ración de jamón tenían una pinta... , además, el trato ha sido estupendo, así que volveremos. Eso sí, recomiendo llamar previamente para reservar mesa, porque se completa rápidamente."

"un buen lugar para cenar. La atención es muy buena y sirve rápido. el lugar está muy bien decorado. Aconsejo reservar ya que es un sitio con mucha influencia. la comida es bastante buena, los sándwiches son muy completos y grandes, las papas si es verdad que eran muy aceitosas y no fue la única cosa que no nos consiguieron. la pizza es muy buena y el tamaño es correcto, recomendando la pizza “Miriam” el menú tiene una gran variedad e incluyen para aperitivos y desayunos opciones muy exquisitas que pronto probaremos"

"We have passed this place next to the Repsol station on the old old Granada Road many times after a a days walking or visiting Granada and have always been impressed by the number of cars, vans and lorries parked there which we take to...be a good sign. We have just got round to visiting it for lunch and it lived up to our expectations. From the outside you might expect dishes to be on the expensive side but were in fact very reasonably priced. We opted for the 10 euro menu, my wife started with a refreshing salad while I went for the fish soup which contained chunks of white fish and a plump prawn in a tasty. For mains she went for grilled sole while I tried the meatballs which were fine but but perhaps a little bland for my liking, both served with home made fries.We were both full for postres but had 2 espressos instead. The whole lot came to 20 euros including bread and a large bottle of water. While we were there it started to fill up with elderly Spanish couples out for lunch, a group, some men in suits but even more in high vis jackets and work boots. The later clientele were clearly regulars whose food appeared almost instantly while the rest of us were allowed to eat at a more relaxed pace. It says its open from 7am to 00.00 Monday to Sunday although I am not sure if food will be served all hours. The whole place is clean and well lite but still traditional Spanish in style. The waiters wear smart casual and are pleasantly relaxed but very efficient. We look forward to exploring the menu further on another visit- some of the platos combinardos looking interesting as do manu dishes on the main menu."

"Estuvimos en Cala Honda en el mes de junio y realmente había muy pocos lugares abiertos, paseando dimos con el mesón Kika que tenía una terraza bajo unos soportales y nos sentamos para tomar una cerveza. Los señores que nos atendieron nos parecieron encantadores, amables y agradables. Nada más sentarnos en la terraza vinieron a preguntarnos que queríamos tomar y al momento teníamos servido lo que habíamos pedido. En la primera cerveza que pedimos nos pusieron una tapa de albóndigas caseras que estaban buenísimas y además otra tapa de queso, con la segunda cerveza un revuelto que también estaba muy rico. Volvimos al día siguiente y además de la tapa correspondiente a la cerveza que estábamos tomando, nos sirvieron un tomate aliñado diciéndonos que acababan de traérselos y que estaban muy frescos. En el interior tienen una zona de barra y un comedor muy amplio. Servían paellas mixtas y de marisco, diferentes tipos de arroces, como arroz con bogavante, arroz negro o arroz caldoso, carnes, pescados y tenían un menú en el que ofrecían tres primeros platos y tres segundos. Nos gustó mucho el trato que recibimos."

"En pleno corazón de Motril, bar muy acogedor, está ubicado en una calle peatonal (Cervantes) por lo que la terracita tiene, aún más si cabe, mucho encanto. "Hoy hemos vuelto a este restaurante. bien, limpio, diafano, tanto en la terraza como dentro. Hemos seguido las recomendaciones de carlos, el chef propietario de la habitación, y hemos tomado desde la entrada un camarón blanco de huelva a la placa sublime, buen producto trabajado en su punto y, ojo, una carta de orgullo, un mero a la brazie, de poco más de medio kilo de peso, fresco, fresquisimo, y ya saben desde el mar la mera de la tierra el cordero. destaca el etil emparejando una rueda blanca. terminamos con un exquisito pastel de la casa de queso, café y un chupito de cerezas de la casa. servicio atento, cordial, eficiente y cercano. notable alto. Volveremos algunas veces este verano."

"Las pizzas están buenas. Pero no contentos con meterte 2 euros de servicio a domicilio, te cascan un pedido mínimo de 16€. O una u otra, pero no las dos, y menos a la vez. Antes no tenían restricciones, pedías una pizza y en media hora la tenías en casa por el precio de la pizza. Solía pedir a menudo pero me parece que voy a dejar de hacerlo. Para más inri, la pizza ha llegado con burbujas de pan como mi puño, y eso solo pasa cuando no echas ingrediente en esas zonas. Tampoco es la primera vez que me entregan una pizza así. Resumiendo: Suben precios, te cobran servicios y las pizzas llegan medio vacías de condimento."

"Relatively correct until there started to be people, at which point the service has declined, served late and poorly, to the point that we ran out of drinks and we still didn't have the tapa, they hadn't even asked us for it. And then, although it has emptied, it has remained the same, and while some waiters served as best they could and many customers were still waiting, other waiters were dedicated to talking with friends. "First visit to calahonda and had walk round the town and saw this hotel restaurant which looked nice and busy so had high hopes. We were greeted initially by a very pleasant waiter that could not speak or understand english but was very eager to help he reminded me of Manuel from Fawlty towers . Our order was taken by a very rude what appeared to be head waiter after which my meal appeared just plonked in front of me no smile no eye contact and no meal for my partner. We waited 15 minutes then had to ask where the other meal was for it to arrive 5 minutes later nearly landing in my partners lap it was thrown down so hard on table. At no point did anyone ask if our meals were satisfactory or any other drinks offered even though our glasses had been empty for nearly an hour !! Our meals were only passable nothing special and the whole experience very disappointing . We were not asked if we would like dessert and had to wait about half an hour to get the attention of the waiter for the bill which he again chucked on the table the one and only time he had eye contact or said one word was when he collected the money probably expecting a tip which he definitely did not deserve or receive. All in all a terrible experience for our first visit to what we hoped was going to be a friendly typically Spanish little town spoilt by one very rude Spanish waiter who quite obviously did not like English people in his restaurant as all the other customers appeared to be Spanish and were receiving far far better courteous service. Fortunately we chalked it down to experience and visited a rival hotel two nights later with excellent service ."

"La primera vez que fuimos todo perfecto. La segunda pedimos un entrante dos sandwiches. Trajeron los sandwiches, nos los comimos y el entrante no llegó.(parece ser que se lo sirvieron a otra mesa). En lugar de decirnos que se equivocaron y consultarnos si lo seguíamos queriendo nos dijo que sí que estaba en camino. Obviamente después de comernos los sandwiches y que pasase un buen rato ya no nos apetecía el entrante. La camarera nos cobró y se largó sin siquiera pedir disculpas, agradecer la visita o despedirse de nosotros. De muy malos modos. Es una pena porque seguramente hubiésemos vuelto pero por actitudes como esta (que además se entiende menos porque ese entrante que llega tarde lo sirvió inmediatamente a otra mesa, por tanto no pierden dinero) no vamos a repetir, allá ella."
