"We dined here twice during our stay at the Hotel. The first night we had been taken in by the Hotels offer of a gourmet experience package and agreed as we were arriving on a Sunday evening and we just wanted something reassuring. This was not cheap and the food was very good, but there was no choice on this menu. Having deliberately chosen to have blind tasting menus at other Restaurants in the past, this is no big issue, but when dining in a place like this a little choice would have been more welcome, especially as variations on the dishes we had were available on the A La Carte menu anyway. Yes I am being picky ! and we re-booked A La carte for the second night’s stay as the food was genuinely nice and service very pleasant indeed. We discovered there are cheaper packages with less “foodie” offerings so make sure if you do go for a Hotel offered package you select what’s good for your pocket tastes. The restaurant was very busy, all seats taken, so others would probably say service was slow, but for us that was nice as we just wanted to relax and while away the evening. Staff were as attentive as you could wish and the wine waiter who served my wife the wine flight with her “gourmet” menu was really very good describing the wine’s origin in a genuinely conversational way that can sometimes become a bit like listening to a script in other situations. As for the food itself – well it was good and well cooked. My wife was unimpressed with the Pork dish on the gourmet menu, but I ate it for her and found it lovely! The choice on the A la Carte menus was good and there are different menus for different pockets. Much better than most Hotel Restaurants that often tend to be “burger and steak” choices."
