"Four of us visited here on a quiet night in September, We know that this is run by the owners of the Green Chilli restaurant up the road which is excellent and is the reason for us choosing here instead of other similar options. The menu is extensive but it turns out you can have 2 courses [anything off the menu] whatever the price and a small drink included for 12.95 euro which sounded great value, we had went to the German restaurant looking steaks for the guys this night but it was booked out so steak was very much on our minds. For starter we had the following 1. Mussels in garlic/cream sauce- these tasted fantastic, as it was only a starter there were perhaps a dozen mussels in the bowl which was fine, however around half of them hadn't opened and could clearly be seen to be closed so we think the chef perhaps should have noticed this and not served them, we could understand if this happened on a huge main course bowl were you might not see this had happened but certainly on the small bowl it should have been noted [all the worse as they were lovely] a little more bread too rather than 2 tiny teeeny bits to soak up the lovely juice would also help. 2. Sizzling garlic King prawns- these were great with a lovely creamy sauce, bit different to what i was expecting but first class and a good choice 3. Nachos, these were very tasty and plentiful and our friend though great value as a starter 4. Deep fried brie, this again was very tasty with nice sides and was large for a starter so we all had a bit- very good For the mains we will start with the good points 1. Lasagne- this was in a nice sized attractive bowl with plenty of meat and cheese and was given a big thumbs up by our friend, came with chips included 2. Sizzling chicken fajitas- this was a huge portion of very tasty chicken with all the accompanying sour cream /guacamole and salsa, all tasted really nice- only real complaint was the tortilla wraps were tiny and given the amount of chicken in the sizzler it would only take around a third of the chicken- thumbs up for the portion size of the chicken but didn't match the tortillas. 3. Rack of ribs- i had these myself and they were incredibly disappointing-At 14 euro on the menu which apart from the steak was the dearest thing if wanted to order it on its own it was nowhere near that value- they were as tough as old boots and i couldn't even cut them with a knife- my advice would be to either up the quality of these and take a little less profit or dump them all together as they give the other nice food a bad name, i did think that the cost of the ribs to the cost of the overall deal we were getting did sound a little too good to be true but the quality in their other restaurant is so good i had to try them- this one was a mistake, 4. New York Steak- as in my review we did think the steak at 16-18 euro could not possibly be part of this deal and after my friend had received it and tried it we were correct, pretty poor quality cut of meat with loads of soft fat left over, he classed this as average Again our point would be to either up the quality here and say Steak add 3-5 euro to offer but have better quality as again it took away from the enjoyment of the other parts of the meal which were in fact great value and tasty i had the dearest steak up the road in the German a few evenings later and the 19.60 price was close to their price but miles away better tasting steak and well worth paying the extra money [food for thought i think] We would definitely try this restaurant again but stick to smaller items like burgers/lasagne and perhaps some mexican dishes as these look excellent value on the special menu"
