"I had the worst experience at this Italian restaurant. For the starter, I ordered ribs, but they came with a watery sauce and bland ingredients that were separating in the bowl. The meat was overcooked to the point where the fat was nearly liquefied. The pizza lacked flavor and was made with noticeably poor ingredients. When I asked for chili oil to enhance the meal, the staff didn’t understand and brought me a small dish of chili sauce instead. I did voice my complaints but received the typical meaningless apology and one of the pizzas was taken off the bill. In hindsight, I should have refused to pay for everything except the wine. Save your time and money; you're better off grabbing a pizza from the supermarket."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Fleece Hotel! All the staff were friendly and accommodating, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The location was ideal for exploring the market city and its surroundings during our last few days. Our room was perfect and well-furnished, providing everything we needed—though a few extra clothes hangers would have been a nice addition. Overall, it was a fabulous experience! The breakfast room was bright and airy, offering a selection of freshly cooked dishes alongside toast, cereal, coffee, and juices. All in all, it was a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel! I believe it's the best in the city!"

"We wanted to eat here, but unfortunately, the kitchen closed at 2 o'clock, so we were left feeling a bit cramped and dissatisfied. However, the bartender in the early afternoon was friendly and engaging, and we enjoyed the company of the pub dog. The local darts players provided plenty of entertainment, and the real fire added a cozy warmth to the atmosphere. With reasonably priced drinks, we ended up staying for three hours instead of just one. Thank you!"

"I had a great time at this restaurant. The location was fantastic, right in the center and with plenty of sunshine. The staff was friendly and lovely. The food took a bit long to arrive, about an hour, but they were hosting a big event. I ordered my roast with extra meat instead of Yorkshire pudding and potatoes, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of delicious, high-quality meat I received. The menu for both food and drinks was extensive, albeit a bit pricey, but it was worth it considering the great location. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future."

"I searched for the "best roast in Richmond" and Town Hall Pub came highly recommended. We were fortunate to secure a table for 11 on Sunday, and I'm so glad we did. We received a warm welcome, the menu was explained to us, and the food was fantastic. Our multi-generational family all enjoyed their meals, and the desserts were delicious as well. We wrapped up our visit with a game of pool and left feeling full and happy. Thank you, Town Hall Pub!"

"Birthday dinner for my wife. Lovely setting albeit quite chilly in there. Rough dusty floor as its a nursery, but tricky avoiding the puddles getting in and out of the venue and visiting the toilets. Food was pricey and didn't live up to the standard we expected. Burnt toast under the crostini's and under the chicken livers. Steak was supposed to be medium rare but it was extremely rare. Side potatoes were overcooked golf balls. Portions are large but that kind of spoils it as you've no room left after starters. Many people were taking their leftovers home in take out boxes. Don't blame them at these prices. We still enjoyed our evening as the setting and the team are very nice. But I hope the kitchen takes note of some of these points as it does take the shine off the evening."

"Visited Penleys Café mid-afternoon, avoiding the lunchtime rush. Very relaxed atmosphere, felt homely with friendly, helpful staff. Great selection of food, but being lunchtime I went for a club sandwich and chips. Wow, what a meal that turned out to be. Finished off with a gorgeous home-made carrot cake. Absolutely delicious fare at a very reasonable price. I live some 50miles away but anytime I 'm in this area this lovely cafe will be my top choice for refreshment. "This pub is absolutely fantastic and a true gem in the village. We have visited twice this week for meals and once for drinks without food. They have an amazing selection of beers, ciders, and whiskeys, and the food is simply the best. My partner, who is a vegetarian, was pleasantly surprised to find various delicious veggie options on the menu, including two different veggie pies. The Sunday roast we had was also outstanding, with a nut roast for her and perfectly cooked lamb and beef for me. The quality of the ingredients truly shines, as everything is sourced locally. The atmosphere is great with a large patio and garden offering beautiful views of the Swale valley. The pub is also kid and dog friendly, with a welcoming fire for colder days. I would give this place six stars if I could, it's that good. Veggie or not, you definitely need to come and try it out!"

"Really disappointing visit as we have heard great things about the food. Unfortunately never even got to try it! We were shown to our table and the staff vanished for over 10 minutes. We were convinced at this point it was bar service so had to find someone and check it wasn’t. Not sure if they are understaffed but there were no staff walking around and checking on tables. We ordered our food and waited an hour. Finally gave up and asked a member of staff to find out someone had made an error on the till and the kitchen hadn’t even gotten our order yet. When asked how long it would take they basically had no idea. At this point we gave up and walked out. We saw another customer complain that her food was taking a long time so I know our bad service wasn’t an isolated incident. Would have liked to try the highly recommended food but the whole experience was a disaster from start to finish."

"Very poor experience overall. Coffee was great but other than that, very much regretted the visit. Iced mocha had chocolate bits at the bottom all stuck together in a frozen block, so it was an iced coffee with a big lump of chocolate bit 's in. When asked about it, the Australian female working said that 's how we make it, it has chocolate bits in it. No attempt made to rectify the drink but a spoon was offered, presumably to eat the lump of iced chocolate? You certainly can 't taste the chocolate in the drink or suck any of the bits through a straw... This situation was made far worse when the same woman deemed it appropriate to loudly repeat to her colleague over whole cafe that, it 's meant to be like that and she 's drunk it all anyway, so what does she want, I offered her a spoon! This is some of the worst customer service I 've ever experienced. She was surely aware we could all hear her slagging the customers off behind their back. On top of this the pancakes were very average, bacon came out burnt to a crisp (literally shattered when attempting to cut). Again, we felt the need to complain which she was fine about this time, so took away the bacon and brought back some virtually raw bacon instead, which we had to again ask to be cooked properly. She was fine about this but still had to hear the back and forth with the chef. The keto salad bowl was the most boring, lackluster meal I 've ever been unfortunate enough to pay for. Very dry chicken no seasoning and everything separated. Could literally have not made it any more bland or boring other than a tiny bowl of dressing was included. In summary, nice coffee but avoid the drama of the staff 's bad attitude and incredibly average and dull food."

"Upon arriving in Richmond, we immediately recognized the Prince's Head pub and its charming courtyard. It was exactly as it appears in the show. This pub was the best we visited in England, and I'm genuinely sad to leave. The Prince's Head made me feel like a local, and I could easily imagine myself going there regularly. The atmosphere and the people radiated warmth and familiarity. We enjoyed a few pints and had lunch, and I was truly impressed by the quality of the food. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was excellent. I had the fish finger sandwich with chips, which was absolutely perfect. While we were chatting about Ted Lasso, the bartender (I believe his name was Cavan) surprised us by offering an AFC Richmond jersey and some memorabilia from the show! We gladly accepted his invitation to wear the items for our many photos. A huge thank you to him for being incredibly gracious and accommodating! This was an unforgettable experience, and I hope to return someday. Cheers to everyone at the Prince's Head!"

"After a hard day out in the sun I decided to venture the Number 29 Tapas bar for my dinner. Upon entering I was instantly greeted by the very welcoming staff members they directed me to a my spot for the evening. A beautiful window view table I'm quite the fussy eater, but I am trying to experience new foods. Running two stores in leyburn I know that customer service is paramount in any business. A lovely young server named Maia diligently talked me through all my options. I have never met a server as kind and courteous as her. Her customer service is unmatched! She is a credit to this restaurant and truly made the fabulous dineng experience that much better! I tried a few diffent options for food my choices. Haggis in a honey wheat mustard sauce. Chorizo in a divine tomato sauce. Hummus and some different options of soft freshly baked breads. And a beautiful selection of cured meats. My god the food was on another level of amazing I especially loved the haggis. I then enjoyed a brownie and ice cream for pudding. Presentended beautiful on the plate! And I washed it all down with a delish recommend white wine. Everything was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening! I would highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
