"We were staying with relatives in St. Didier and had our Christmas lunch at Auberge du Velay on Christmas Day.The restaurant is beautifully decorated; somehow interspersing 16th century architecture with modern comforts (and unusual - but unintrusive and beautiful - decorations).The staff were perfect and looked after us very well from the start. The three course Christmas set menu had a good selection of dishes to suit everyone. My scallop starter was absolutely perfect, and my fish main course divine. My "quad" selection of mini desserts was sublime - and I loved the pipette tubes to "inject" with sauces!I would definitely go out of my way to come back here if we were in the area again."
