"True Italian Abruzzo Experience If you are in the San Pio, Navelli, Santo Stefano di Sessanio or Bominaco area, this is a MUST!!! This is not your touristy dining experience. They provide a dining experience that reflects all the wonderful, special ingredients of Abruzzo. They use the freshest and best ingredients and prepare meals with delicacies like saffron and truffles. Plus they have some English speaking which helped out. . After visiting the churches and castles in the area...go to Ristorante La Cabina on SS17 (Castelnuovo di San Pio Delle Camere). They have lots of seating outdoors and indoors. I have eaten some of the Abruzzo Michelin restaurants and other restaurants all over Abruzzo. The quality of the food and preparation was the best!! Excellent desserts not to be missed. The family is rebuilding its old restaurant due to the earthquake and have this location until old building is ready again after the L'Aquila earthquake. Desserts are prepared on site. They are simply delicious. From her crema al marsala, cheesecake and many more, they are desserts that you cannot simply get anywhere. The grilled lamb, filet, gnocchi, ravioli and roast beef are excellent. It’s been the best lamb I had during my month stay in Abruzzo!! Thank you La Cabina"
