"So, picture this: I stroll into Ben 's joint expecting a flavor fiesta in my mouth, but what do I get? A lukewarm greeting and an interior that 's as exciting as watching paint dry. Seriously, they need to hire an interior decorator who didn 't flunk out of design school. Now, let 's talk about the menu. It 's like they threw darts at a Chinese takeout menu and whatever it landed on, they added. Variety is the spice of life, but Ben 's takes it to a whole new level of confusion. General Tso 's chicken meets sweet and sour pork in a bizarre dance of culinary chaos. But hey, the food wasn 't a total disaster. It was edible, I guess. If you 're into that kind of thing. I 've had more exciting flavor explosions from a microwave dinner, though. And the portions? It 's like they 're rationing rice in a post-apocalyptic world. I left hungrier than a vulture at a vegan buffet. Service, oh boy. The waitstaff was about as attentive as a sloth on sedatives. I had to wave my arms like I was directing air traffic just to get a dang refill on my water. And don 't get me started on the wait time – I could 've grown a beard waiting for my Kung Pao chicken. Now, let 's talk ambiance. The place is about as cozy as a Siberian prison cell. The lighting is so dim; I thought I was having dinner in a cave. And the decor? It 's like they raided a thrift store from the '80s and said, Yeah, this 'll do. In conclusion, Ben 's Chinese Cuisine is the kind of place you go to when you 've lost all hope for a fantastic meal but still want to convince yourself you made a reasonable choice. It 's not the worst, but it 's not winning any culinary awards. Three stars, only because I 'm feeling generous today. Cheers to mediocrity!"

"Telephoned and booked overnight in our small campervan as a stopover on our way to Devon. They have one spot at the side of the pub for a small camper but we were also told that the local primary school, just around the corner lets you stay in their car park overnight throughout the school holidays for a small fee Honesty box on the wall) What a lovely greeting we received by Karl and we were made to feel very welcome. The village of Miserden was peacefull. beautiful and idyllic. We parked and stayed for the evening, drinks selection great, they also made me my favoutire Gin drink. We both had Sunday dinners, which we both really enjoyed. Beef was generous, veg cooked perfect and roast potatoes were superb! I had a bread and butter pudding which was lovely. Staff, owners and other village customers were really chatty and our eveinng was a relaxed , fun ,cosy and homely atmosphere. We had a great night and slept really well as it was really quiet in the evening. We had such a nice time on the way home from Devon, we decided to stopover again. As it was impromtu, we stayed in the School Car Park. School teacher arrived to work, who was really friendly and advided us there was a public toilet, open through the night , just a little way down, over the road. This was helpful for us. Again, had another great chatty evening in the Carpenters Arms and this will be our stopover when we travel South again. Remeber, your night is what you make it, join in converstatons, ask questions, speak up if asked if everything is alright or if you would like something, I asked for extra gravy and a special drink making, nothing too much trouble. Thank you to everyone, we felt very much part of the Miserden Community."

"The reviews, to put it mildly are very generous. I know the pub trade has had a tough time,,, But this pub needs help. On entry, a tired pub, with a basic selection of beers. The food menu, is grim reading, Food a teenager could whip up, warm up real easy. The best selection we made wasthe Cheesy nachos served with homemade salsa, guacamole and sour cream dip A good one to share and tasty. £7.95 My main, The unique, home-cooked 3 Shu Pie is made up of 3 different sections. In the first is bubbling cauliflower/broccoli cheese, the middle is made of creamy mashed potato with vegetables folded in and the final section is a choice of one of our delicious fillings In this case steak and Kidney all topped with a soggy Filo Pastry lid In reality, This ranks as the WORST PUB pie i have EVER been served. A 2 in one pie can work, 3 in one, No way ever. In this case, after lifting the naff filo lid, there is nothinf=g but stodge, The cauliuflower section is poor, The mash basic, and the bit you go for a meat pie, in this case steak and Kidney, total rip off, Maybe .50p of meat at most, Because its now less than a 1/3rd of the pie, it need to be damned good, the gravy runny and bland, The steak tiny sugar cude sized bits, ie i=f you took a decent sized chunk, cut it up, there would be enough for 2 pies i'd say. What brings this home was last week i was in Scarborough, And stopped at a petrol staion, Where i bought a £2 Steak pie to die for, It had 4 times the meat, And was a million times better than this £13.45 version. Sorry if sounding like a mad man, But steak and ale pies have to be right, its the law ! Our other meal was the Frozen beer battered haddock, 4/10 The Kitchen was ULTRA Slow, So if planning a get together, bring a party game or something"
