"I cannot overstate what a great place this is. Arriving late on a Saturday night, straight from the airport, the staff who welcomed us couldn't have been more welcoming, seating us at a large table outside on a massive verandah crowded with local families. There were seven people in the party including three kids and the waiter offered to match the menu accordingly. And so began a genuine banquet of fresh, beautifully prepared and presented local dishes. Antipasti included octopus, grilled vegetables, arranchini and croquets, salad, bruschetta, charcuterie, mozzarella and more. The dishes just kept coming and, despite the quantity, were irresistible. This was followed by pasta a ragout, subtly herbal with al dente penne and pizza for the kids. The pizza was extraordinary, simple, thin crust, crispy, simply presented and sublime. A perfect antidote to all the stodgy, oily, undercooked, over topped pie things available under the same name. We subsequently discovered that this restaurant has a reputation for making some of the best pizza in the region (a region that already makes the best pizza in the world! . All of this was accompanied by endlessly replenished carafes of local wine, mineral water and soft drinks. Breaking point reached, there was no room for the main courses which were offered. Maybe that was a mistake but there just wasn't space. Next time... The bill was incredibly reasonable and, along with complimentary liqueurs, rounded off a wonderfully unexpected and memorable evening. This restaurant isn't that easy to find, being located up a track off the already quite remote main road. But it's absolutely worth going out of your way to find. Perfect."
