"a pleasant enough Friday evening friendly (senior) staff, good use. as usual, the blackboard was the first control preference for the expectation that it is fresh and probably imaginative. the smoked duck starter was excellent. sadly, the same could not be proved by the crab cakes: hardly a crumb meat in, only kartoffel and a bit overboiled anyway (lightly burned) and clone. the sweet chili sauce was from the bottle and more or less tasteless no recognizable chili! the dish would be a sweat in boston, mass. the most important, baked sea stream fillings, was dry, overboiled. it seemed as if it had been prepared and reheated in advance. what a waste of good fishing. the sea of the sauce was a surprise. but the parmese crust was a strange group of lumps on one, although an identifiable cake on the other counts as crust?' to be honest, I found it sick. the nice servier dish (stainless steel) was not cleaned in the old from many on squirting baked. if food is to be cooked in such things, it must be served in a clean one. the kartoffels were underdonated and barely dulled on a few top edges. that said the primitivo was a very good wine for the price. However, the lad that served him had to be shown where and how to open the glasses, how to open the bottle, and how to offer the taste. he didn't seem too focused on learning. the other lad has to be shown how to put cutlery: knife and fork was one on the left and one on the right; messer ein, messer aus. ok, the personal to get is hard, but the basic training? odd, although we were served by 5 different employees, of which two (the seniors) knew what they did. the lemon sorbet' was not sorbet, there were a few fat elements. it was pleasant enough, very pleasant, only not what was expected. the coffee was good. the music was just a bit too loud and intrusive, and not restful by an unfortunate style ( whatever it should be). that was not a cash setting. I usually go to Italian restaurants, very foreseeable to be good: they know what is to be expected from the whole menu. I'm sorry, it's not this time."

"abusive customers and unforgiving management. it’s such a shame that a pub like the springhead allows itself to be let down by the clientele and management, and how the latter handles issues relating to said clients. there’s been google reviews in the past few months about terrible clientele and i don’t imagine mine will be the last. we came here for an afternoon sunday roast. the food was lovely, and the walk we made before hand was scenic and full of life. upon leaving, i was with my mother who was taking a photo of the outside seating area. an older man stood up, one we’d seen be greeted by name inside by the carvery area. obviously a regular. he began to walk towards my mother, raising both crutches at her whilst threatening her not to take pictures of him. his language was abusive, we could handle this, but the spoilt experience was the reaction of the manager to this abuse towards us. she had told us that she didn’t care about the abusive language, and seemingly blind to the fact that he’d threatened to hit my mother with his crutches, and instead told us that leaving a bad review would damage the reputation of her pub. she had claimed to not know the man, although he’d addressed her by her name when she came outside, and he’d been addressed by his by another member of staff inside. we are paying customers. you do not expect to come somewhere with management that belittles you rather than proactively disputing a situation with a customer they are familiar with. by letting these regular customers speak to tourists like this, you allow yourself to have reviews like mine posted. it’s ridiculous to think that you are not responsible for YOUR regulars. this reflects on how you hold yourself as a business. a terrible shame overall, management needs to have training courses on customer service to ensure this doesn’t happen again."
