"We went there on my birthday to enjoy a classy meal. We were looking forward for that by all means. The restaurant is well designed and looking very noble but it won't make you feel uncomfortable. I noticed that the tables are big so that you sit rather far away from your attendance, which could be in case disadvantageous to an eventually hoped for romantic mood. Anyway, the reception and service was friendly merely the time until we got the menu was a bit long. I ordered apple-blackberry juice, my girlfriend Muskatellersekt, both excellent. For dinner she had sirloin steak with port wine sauce, chorizo beans and potato gratin, I went for calf liver with balsamic vinegar onion sauce, mashed potatoes and carrots with chervil. They were good by the way. Not so perfect was the taste of my mashed potatoes, which definitely surprised me, until it's mashed potatoes! Like there were to much green potatoes in it. And I could not taste a hint of acid notes from the balsamic vinegar in the sauce, which I consider important in combination with liver cooked that way. The quality of the meat in contrast was excellent and so my girlfriend's flesh was. She had the problem that her sauce was lacking port wine taste, the beans were still hard and if thy ever seen chorizo it must be on the way by. And her gratin was filled with broccoli and although she likes it, she had not expected that, in particular because it was not written on the menu. And in comparison to the steak the sides were little, too little. Don't let me be misunderstood: the food was not awful or impossible to eat. But those small shortcomings restrain me to talk of high class or excellence. We will give it another try, for sure. Hopefully it was only one evening of lacking form."
