"We ate on the pavement by the water. Stunning location. Charly's proves the theory that when the location is good, the restaurant does not have to try very hard. The food is pricy for what you get, even for Switzerland. Better food, and cheaper, at the top of Rochers de Naye!! We had burgers and chips at Charlys. The chips were standard french fries. The chef had gone to the trouble of keeping them for us so they arrived at the table barely warm and tasting like cardboard. This was a good match for my burger which was simply the most tasteless burger i have eaten in my life. ("Burger valois") My partner said her burger was 'OK" but again the chips were very poor. The waterfront strip at Vevey is one of the better Swiss waterfronts on Lake Geneva - it deserves better and so do you for your money. Have a drink by the waterfront - dont eat."
