"Not true all the time when it is perceived or part of the truth. Never not true when it is (the whole) truth. I ordered the beef sandwich. I explicitly asked for no mustard. The sandwich came with mustard, which consequently had to be changed. It was accompanied by a derisory portion of salad and a small bowl of crisps. The beef was processed meat, tasteless, and bad for your health. It was terrible. I thought the dessert might improve things. In fact, it got worse. My cousin ordered the chocolate cake which was cut so thinly it was insulting and tasteless, I asked the young girl to cut my Victoria sponge more generously which she did. I asked for cream. I was told this was extra. It came in a small cup not much bigger than an egg cup. This had to be shared between the two of us and provided us with approximately a large tablespoon each. It was a miserable meal and all I can say is I can't believe all the positive reviews."

The staff here are always so friendly and helpful… even though they are often very busy. The food is tasty and well presented, and the Wi-Fi is fast. It is a great little place.

Went for a Saturday lunch with my partner, I had a wrap and my partner had a ploughman’s platter, which we both really enjoyed. Lovely coffee served by friendly staff! We will definitely be visiting again.

We had lunch in this nice cafe on our day trip to Southport and were very impressed with the quality of the food and the service. And with the 50% discount with the Eat out to Help out, it was a really positive experience!

Lovely coffee shop based in the Atkinson. I can recommend the chicken sandwiches and my mums favourite Bara Brith. Soups are homemade and delicious as are everything else. Unfortunately only open till 4pm but well worth a visit Speisekarte ansehen

Covid times make operating a cafe difficult- however the team here did a fantastic job yesterday. Busy but acknowledged on arrival followed by a perfect level of attention. Can’t fault Suggestions a menu for the autistic where items are served separate?

We stumbled upon this charming restaurant and had a delightful experience. My friend and I enjoyed tea and scones, which were absolutely delicious. We were visiting Southport for a two-day trip and may not return for a while, but if we do, this restaurant will be our first stop.

This will be my go-to place next time. Every aspect of it was good. Eat inside or out. Nice area outside in the sun/shade. Far enough back from the traffic. Busy but not noisy or overcrowded. Just the right price. Great range of quality food. Particularly recommend the Ploughman’s Platter Speisekarte ansehen

We had another fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. Both of us tried the specials of the day, which were pork, stuffing, and pear chutney sandwiches served with salad and crisps. The meal was absolutely delicious, and we also enjoyed a great cup of coffee. The staff was friendly, efficient, and we always look forward to coming back for more delicious meals.

I visited Southport for the day and saw the positive reviews for this cafe, so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. It is a fantastic cafe. I arrived about half an hour before closing, so it was very quiet. The staff were following Covid guidelines carefully and were friendly, polite, and provided excellent service. I appreciated their efforts. There was a nice selection of cakes and drinks available. We asked for our drinks to be extra hot, and they were made perfectly. The chocolate orange cake was amazing - flavorful, rich, yet light. It was one of the best cakes we have ever had. I also recommend the orange hot chocolate - it was delightful. Furthermore, the prices were very r...

"Friday night is busy for most, I 'm sure. Appalled by the service in all honesty. Staff seem smug and unattentive. It 's too much trouble to tend your (paying) needs. To be fair.. I am mostly speaking of one particular staff member, but it appears he is the manager/lead server. I can 't differentiate as there were no introductions.. I 'm not bothered about that; necessarily, I 'm trying to stay mutual, but last night, I was so disappointed. Staff leaning over you to take plates without communication of their intentions. I 'm wondering what this place is trying to be, fine dining, or just a typical restaurant.. their attitudes claim they are of the finer sort (including the prices) Poppadoms are made to seem complimentary as you wait. But don 't worry, they will charge you.. there 's a real lack of transparency and connection between customers/staff.. I did enjoy the food somewhat, but It wasn 't brilliant.. I 've had better at the local indian takeaway, in all honesty. The receipt was confusing too (party of 10) It was very difficult to figure out the full costs per person as it was all mixed up. Whilst trying to calculate the costs per individual said staff member was hovering around and made it seem such an inconvenience, and we felt rushed. I believe I am very fair and I always give people multiple chances, but his service was unacceptable... everything was a problem for him. Perhaps it 's a difference of cultures, however, having travelled the world to a a varying degree I have never felt this way, most places have made me feel welcome and this one of the reviews I have left feeling so strongly about it. Every person of the party has shared the same view, so I am not only speaking for myself. He delegated as to how much rice or sides we should have 'as he had accounted for it all ' Which leads me to believe they are aiming for a more prestigious type establishment.. There are very few places that offer THAT type experience in Southport.. and this is not the place. I don 't want to appear angry as I enjoy experiencing all types of food/environments etc etc. But this wasn 't the experience I was led to expect. I haven 't contacted the restaurant yet, but I don 't even know if anything I say (in regards to this visit) will have any effect on their future projections. I hope it was just a busy day, and they were a bit troubled with what was going on.. if that is the case, I will 100% give them another chance and hope that they can treat whomever may enter their restaurant in a manner of which is exciting and enjoyable. After further inspection of the final bill, there were extra items added on said waiter had 'accounted ' for what we required, yet we had far too much rice and other various sides. For example.. if you order 4 beers, it should state 4x beers, But they seem to work it: 1x beer, 1 x rice , 1 x beer, 1x rice, 1x beer, etc etc (for example) Even though we ordered drinks initially, which should all be counted in chronological order. I still have the receipt but didn 't want to post a picture as I 'm sure I have said enough to give a little embarrassment. We were very disappointed and haven 't stopped talking about it since. Don 't have such high expectations and you won 't be disappointed.
