"I made a reservation for my husband's 60th birthday at the Fig restaurant, specifically requesting a nice table. I called twice to confirm. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant was closed for a private function and were seated behind the noisy bar instead. The bartender was throwing empties into a bin, which was very distracting. This was not the experience I had booked or was willing to pay for. We decided to leave without even sitting down. I called the Duty manager, who promised to look into the matter, but I am still waiting for a response."

Our afternoon tea was served in a very cosy quiet area with Xmas background music. The service was excellent and the whole experience was lovely, would recommend it.

The restaurant is nice, but quite average. It could definitely use some tender loving care and a fresh coat of paint. I wouldn't personally consider it to be a boutique restaurant.

Really lovely afternoon tea. Great service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the tables are spaced apart. It was our anniversary and we were delighted to be given a complimentary Prosecco

Attentive, welcoming service. Generous sized scones and brewed leaf teas. We only sampled the cream tea, but the full afternoon teas that were served at neighboring tables looked delicious too scones, sandwiches, cakes. We had a lovely, relaxing time.

Wonderful afternoon tea on the coldest of days! The afternoon tea itself was really very good, everything was of high quality. The waitress who served us couldn’t have been lovelier, she made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Such a beautiful room too. Will definitely return.
