"If you’re reading this review, give Ally’s in Abbeydale a VERY wide birth. By far the worst fish chips I’ve had in many many years. Chips ok I suppose not the best but ok apart from being lukewarm, but haddock was thin, warm and tasted metallic. The batter was not cooked properly. It was still wet inside. All in all it didn’t taste very nice at all. I left most. Unbelievably the gravy and the curry sauce were literally just poured in to a square polystyrene box (rather than a container WITH A LID! so by the time I got home the gravy (which was a cheap instant awful tasting bitty gravy had poured out of the box and into the carrier bag. Huge mess. Cost of living crisis or not, I won’t be going there again. If you’re going to “treat yourself” save your bloomin’ money and have something decent and worth the money delivered to you instead"

If you like thin, grey haddock when you asked for cod. If you like a small chips when you asked for a large. If you like salt and vinegar on chips when you say, ‘no thanks’!
