"We visited as a family. Waitress corrected partner on how to say Bruschetta, which she pronounced 'brush etta '. Pet peeve. They have an under 12s menu, that might be better for under 5s. Daughter asked for Mac n cheese, which was about 20 pieces of pasta not macaroni, but we 're not picky. The cheese sauce had split, which we pointed out and were told that 's just how it comes after it 's been in the oven without anything crunchy in sight it had clearly been microwaved. Everything else was just about edible. Patatas bravas had been reduced to something very red coating the potatoes. Waffle dessert was the best part of the meal. After our first complaints resulted in very frosty customer service we didn 't feel we could say anything else so paid the bill and left. Luckily we don 't live locally so this won 't be somewhere we need to visit again."

"The restaurant has only a few tables, making it fairly quiet, but the log burner and heating keep it nice and warm. This was our second time having lunch here with my elderly parents and we all enjoyed the food and hospitality. It's a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth a visit. It's nice to support a local business, even though we live in Hythe, we still think of Burmarsh as local. We're excited to try their pizza night with an Italian chef. The price per person ranges from £10 to £20."

"My recent visit to The Walnut Tree in Aldington left me with mixed feelings. I was initially disappointed to learn that the restaurant was under new management and the Sunday roast no longer offered a choice of meats. Instead, the price was based on the number of courses. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the roast, which consisted of two slices of gammon and a couple of slices of roast beef for those who chose that option. The roast potatoes and carrots were cooked to perfection, but the cheesy broccoli was a bit too hard for my liking. Unfortunately, the menu lacked allergy information and did not specify that the broccoli was cheesy. The portion of sticky toffee pudding was decent, but I found it lacking in sticky sauce. The apple crumble, on the other hand, was quite small in comparison. Despite these minor disappointments, the standout feature of my visit was the lovely service provided by the wait staff. In conclusion, The Walnut Tree in Aldington offers a nice roast and pleasant service, but there are some improvements that could be made to the menu and portion sizes. Overall, I would still recommend it for a Sunday roast or a casual dining experience."

"We chose Ruth Denzey 's 'The Bistro ' to cater for our wedding this month as we loved the idea of an afternoon tea and Ruth was the only one of our recommened suppliers that offered it. We loved the idea of afternoon tea as it 's informal, down to earth and relaxed, like us. We wanted our wedding to be 'us '. We also love afternoon tea. The slight challenge was whether Ruth would be able to cater for my fussy vegan needs and two guests who were gluten free. This challenge was accepted and successfully met. Nothing was too much trouble. After meeting Ruth at a tasting session, tasting her food and finding that she was also very down to earth and warm, like us, it was a no brainer, we had to pick Ruth. On the day of the wedding the food looked and tasted amazing! The kids boxes even matched our colour scheme which was a lovely touch. Ruth managed everything seamlessly, efficiently, and effectively, even with a late ceremony.We didn 't have to worry about anything and we didn 't have to do anything, we could just relax and enjoy the meal. This was much appreciated. We had lots of comments about how wonderful the food was. Thanks Ruth for a great afternoon tea wedding experience. I wouldn 't hestiate to recommend The Bistro, Ruth and the afternoon tea. Yum Yum."

"Stopped for 1 night for a nearby event. It was a nice, fairly quiet site, although you could hear the traffic from the nearby M20, but it was not intrusive. I pitched a tent for the night. The ground is level and virtually stone free. The facilities are a bit dated. Hence, I waited to get home for a shower. Food at the pub was a bit gourmet for me. The only thing on the menu for me was the Ham, egg, and chips, which was fantastic and an ample portion. All the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. A lovely place to stay and would recommend."
