Always wanted to go in this bar and this year decided to go in at 10pm and we were told it was closed. We we were very co fused as it didn't shut until 11pm. Customer service, to say the least was poor.

We had a wonderful night here on New Years Eve! Staff were outstanding and the food and drinks excellent! We booked for 7.30 and were allowed to stay for the whole night! Music played and the vibe was great!We were allowed to go outside and watch the fireworks on midnight and the view was terrific and then go back inside and have another drink!!!

Booked way back in September for my special birthday! , asked for a specif seat with family , got it! A glass of Champagne on arrival was a special touch not expected! Food was amazing , had the steak and haggis pie absolute lush !!!! Sticky toffee pudding was divine! Pornstar martini is a must ….. staff amazing even though busy and super attentive. Booked this for a meal for the family on the 30th during our 3 day hogmany visit to Edinburgh. Then read the reviews and was nervous based upon some negative ones. However, our experience was wonderful. A magical venue which is nicely spaced out, with super attentive (and super cool) staff. The food was terrific and quick and didnt break the bank (it was £20 more than the chaos and shocking food at TGIs next door the previous night). I guess its a matter of personal taste and experience on the day, but for us it was a wonderful experience and we'll be back.

Came in about 5/5:30pm and got seated quickly but service was truly awful no one came to our table for about 20 minutes no one told us specials or gave us cutlery. We then ordered our food and drinks at the same time. Our food arrived but still no drinks. Food was average, nothing to write home about. Finished our dinner and got asked if we wanted dessert menu which we never received along with any other service at all. After about another 15/20 minutes of no one approaching the table we asked for the bill which they had added a 10% service charge on???? Shocking honestly. Wouldn’t recommend at all and definitely won’t be back. One of the worst services i’ve received.

We have had wonderful meals in Scotland but this was really poor. We had dinner there as a four on 14th December. The beetroot risotto with mushrooms was tasteless and the mushrooms were watery. I couldn’t finish it. The steak was well cooked but the peppercorn sauce had just one peppercorn and tasted of chicken stock. Bizarre. The turkey in the turkey paupiette was dried out. The haggis seemed absent in the steak and haggis pie. Overall it felt like the chef was off for the night and a replacement was just assembling the meals without much care. Such a shame. The Wind in the Willows theme is fun but there was a serious problem with the food. I hope that it was out of character and a one off... Speisekarte ansehen
