"I visited last week for lunch with my step daughter and our dog. The cafe was pretty full but despite this there wasn’t a queue to order and service was good. We had great lattes, a super hearty bowl with tuna, and a Mexican wrap for lunch which were fresh and very tasty. We finished off with delicious chocolate brownies which are baked in house. The staff in Baobab are friendly and efficient, and all seem to love dogs our dog had plenty of fuss and a treat! This cafe ticks every box well run, lots of great food and drink choices and a lovely vibe."

"We went for a Sunday afternoon roast. The service was great and the food was excellent. We had the private room which is lovely if you have a big group. It gives you that home away from home vibe. "This is a friendly pub located on High Street. The male bartender I encountered on Saturday was the most professional and friendly bar team member I have encountered in years. I visit many pubs and I must say, he had excellent customer service skills. The only downside was the limited vegan food options, but there were a couple available. This didn't deter us from staying longer. I would definitely return based on the exceptional service level. Service: 5/5"

"Main Positives: Staff Attitude, and food quality. Recommendations: Gamberoni Caravelli, Paccheri ai Frutti di Mare, Pollo Fiorentina. Where to start, the food was exceptional, the restaurant homely yet stylish, and the staff were polite, attentively, and extremely friendly. We dined here for my Mother 's 60th, and Caravelli did not disappoint; they even brought out cake and candles, and sang to her (with a guitar). Every member of our group raved about the quality of their meal afterwards, and the silence when the food arrived said it all. The prices were medium to high, but fair for the high quality. Wait times were low; drinks were cheap. I strongly recommend, and will come again. Dietary restrictions: Very good if you are gluten free. Complete transparency and plenty of options. My wife dined as if she had no allergies, which is extremely rare! I tried her dish, and you wouldn 't know it was GF. Parking: There 's no car park; don 't be deceived by the carpark behind on maps. You can get street parking outside (Sparrow Hill) or 5 minutes walk away on Meadow Lane; be warned, both are Mon-Sat, 8am-6pm, 1hr only . We dined on a Saturday evening and it wasn 't an issue. Kid-friendliness: Extremely friendly. My son was treated kindly and given some free bits. Had a perfectly balanced professional-family vibe."

"A group of us came to see the Robbie Williams tribute evening (Dan Budd as Robbie Williams was very entertaining) in the upstairs 505 room. The menu choices were excellent, the food was delicious, and the service from the superb staff was first class. The evening was great value for money and I would highly recommend an evening in the 505 room and indeed the White Horse in general! One member of our group cannot eat gluten due to coeliac disease and thanks to the clearly labelled menu, the extensive variety of dishes available and the considerate and caring nature of the staff (who proactively advised our friend that the kitchen had separate areas and equipment for producing the gluten free dishes) was made to feel very welcome and comfortable and they had a great evening. If only more venues could follow the fine example set by the White Horse in catering for people who cannot eat gluten."

"We recently booked the function room at Soar Bridge for a celebration and it was fantastic. The staff were excellent and allowed us to do exactly what we wanted. We couldn't recommend it enough, perfect for any type of celebration. The staff even offered to clean up and reset the tables, but we preferred to do it ourselves. We couldn't find any faults at all. "OMG, this is not authentic Indian cuisine, never have I seen a brighter yellow korma sauce or red masala sauce which looked like it had come from a jar, I’ve eaten out at lots of curry houses in the city and this was the worst yet. The sauce was so sweet and no texture at all, like it had been blended and the chicken just mixed into it at the last minute. Curry is not meant to be this colour, overloaded with food colouring and aesthetically very off putting. I was so disappointed as it was my parents 85th Birthday and they didn’t enjoy it. The venue was uninviting and it was freezing in there, the place was empty and now I know why. Will definitely not be going back there"

"Booked the water bridge for 10 people for a late breakfast,when we arrived the tables were all set menu in place for each person.Our party arrived in dribs and drabs but drink orders were taken as soon as you were seated. Once all the party were seated we ordered our breakfast.Some people had the large(huge) full English others panini and eggs royal.The breakfasts all came out together which was nice.The breakfasts didn't disappoint and there were no complaints and everyone saying how good the full English breakfasts were! Well worth the money but if you didn't want to tackle a huge breakfast there was the option of a smaller version.Very nice friendly staff,definitely worth another visit."

"We booked for 7pm and the menu was given at 7.15. We were told six items on the menu were not available. We got our starters at 8.00, which were all so salty. We then waited ages and watched as two tables that arrived after us, were served their mains. We didn 't get served our mains until 9:00. After waiting two hours for food, the chips were cold, and a lot of them were hard in the middle. Three of us ordered fajitas, the fajita that came was build your own, there was no salad and almost no meat (just onion and peppers) and it was more of a casserole. None of us ate many of the chips and the fajitas weren 't really touched. When they came to ask how the food was, we told them this and were advised they 'd take the drinks off the bill. We had already paid over £50 in drinks at the bar, there were only 2 drinks on the bill. When she brought the bill over, the drinks were still on it. We complained again and said that we weren 't happy to pay for the fajitas, we waited 2 hours and it was awful. She refused to take any of the fajitas off because the last time she did that she got 'bollucked ', so not sure if this is a regular occurance. They took the two drinks and the onion rings off the bill, removing £14 total and that was it. We asked for a refund on the drinks we had already paid for and she said she doesnt know how to do a refund. They offered a voucher it was laughable. Disgusted, we almost walked out of the pub waiting for the food, and was definitely not worth the wait. We will never be returning and will be advising other people not to go either. It 's a shame because we used to go to this pub quite often and it used to be nice. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"I had been meaning to stop here for while as it is always busy and looks beautiful. A lot of effort has gone into the decor and the cafe has a cosy, quirky coffee shop atmosphere. It has a garden area, but as it was a chilly Spring morning, I opted to sit inside. There is a limited breakfast menu but all based on homemade bread or muffins. I chose the poached eggs and bacon on sourdough, which was served to the table very quickly, which delicious super crispy bacon. The standout for me was the coffee a really good flat white. The low point was the cutlery metal, but so flimsy the knife struggled to cut through the bread; it felt a bit like being on an airplane. Nice service in a friendly, popular local cafe too."

"We visited here as a convenient location for a family catch up. We were expecting standard pub fair and a good natter. The food however quickly became the star of the evening. Perfectly cooked scallops, fried fish fritters and sour dough bread started us off. These were followed by a wonderful blade of beef, a tasty crumb crusted cod and an amazing chicken supreme. The quality of the food was incredible and amazing value on a very reasonably priced menu. The staff were friendly, the service excellent and the atmosphere was that of a warm local pub. The front of the pub is a bit cramped when you walk in but the restaurant is lovely so don't let that put you off."

"We really fancied a nice Sunday lunch and after having had a good meal here previously, decided to go back. We walked in via the pub where there were a handful of customers and 2 bar staff chatting to them. No one acknowledged us so we went up to the restaurant. There were no staff evident in the restaurant either so we hovered for a bit before I went in to a back room and found someone. She said that someone in the bar should've greeted us and we explained that they were chatting to customers so we went up to find our table. Once sat down, the service was good although we waited more than 20 minutes for our food to be served. Only 2 other tables were being used in the restaurant. When the food arrived, it was poor. Overcooked Yorkshire puddings that broke off like a crisp when you tried to cut them. a quarter of my plate filled with baby carrots which were so hard and undercooked that we couldn't stick our forks in to them. Tasteless roast potatoes, average roast beef and chicken. Oh dear. So disappointing. As a consequence, we abandoned any plans to have a dessert and will probably not be going back. Not sure why it was so bad really felt as though the Chef wasn't around or couldn't be bothered we felt like a nuisance."

"Wow. The the quirky situation is a fabulous first impression. The friendly greeting made us feel so welcome. The attention to hygiene and protection made us feel safe. The self explanatory simple online ordering system was fun with the opportunity to personalise your order where...possible. The service was kind, thorough and knowledgeable. The food was flavoursome, fresh and inventive. I’m a vegetarian- in a burger place and enjoyed my choices. This is by far not my first visit here. They do change things up and keep it interesting. I was with my 12 year old child and partner on a spontaneous trip after the cinema. It was the perfect fit for a grown up and fun occasion. I requested a surprise cocktail as my second drink. Mr Tim Garratt completely blew my mind. He is an expert professional craftsman mixologist extraordinaire. I don’t know this but think he reviewed my previous cocktail to give him and indication of my taste. In a shake a mysterious mesmerising delicate pink coloured cocktail in the perfect glass encased in a mystical bubble was presented to me. I was hypnotised. When the bubble burst it was the beginning not the end of this exotic experience. The fragrance was intriguing, a mist swirled out of the glass towards me. The temperature was perfectly cool and inviting. The taste was idyllic. Subtle, refreshing, delicate, alive and the best drink I have ever ever tasted. I didn’t savour it, I lived it and loved it and it was gone so quickly. I instantly ordered another. This cocktail was a grapefruit and cucumber daiquiri. To me there’s nothing finer. All 3 of us had a memorable experience and exciting different brave flavours. Everything about Slider Town Loughborough @slidertownloughbouough is individual and excellent. By the way it is bizarre coincidence that we share the same last name. I have no connection to anyone @slidertownloughborough but would be happy to!"

"I regularly go to Lara’s and usually receive good customer service. However, tonight the service was poor and the staff was awfully rude! Tonight I ordered my food and I clearly stated my sea bass to be with rice due to me being allergic to potatoes I repeated myself three times on the phone and the lady repeated it to me. My daughter in law collected the order and when I opened my food I had chips and my sea bass was overcooked. The Turkish bread was burnt and I hadn’t received my salad or sauce. My son and daughter in law also ordered mixed kebabs and they had 5 pieces of skinny meat and hardly any chips. I called the restaurant to see if they could do anything and the ‘manager’ was very rude telling me ‘’there is nothing she could do about it darling’’. She was very rude and proceed to call me a liar and continued to say I didn’t state what I wanted with my sea bass! I returned the food to the restaurant and the staff was very rude again! The man cooking the food told me his staff wasn’t rude and to lower my voice he chucked my money at me and told me to leave his shop. All I wanted was a apology not to be called a liar I will not be returning due to the poor customer service and quality of the food on my last few visits."

"My friend and I decided to visit this cafe because it looked charming. We ordered a hot chocolate, a tea, and two tiffin cakes, however, there were no clean tables available. Despite this, we decided to sit at one and wait for it to be cleaned. The waitress eventually came to clean the table, but ended up smudging it even more and leaving crumbs all over. Additionally, she brought the wrong cakes to our table - we had asked for tiffin cakes, which should not have been hard to remember. I believe she could benefit from some additional training in communication and customer service, as it is crucial for customers to want to return."
