"really a surprise,use the location with an outdoor terrace in the green, the interior rooms are 3, a large, a medium and a small for a work dinner table. "Locale alla mano, senza troppe pretese, ma dall'atmosfera intima e accogliente. Abbiamo provato la loro cucina una sera a metà settimana, il posto accoglieva pochi commensali oltre a noi e c'è sembrato perfetto per la nostra cenetta. Abbiamo scelto il menù di pesce: due antipasti, un secondo e un tocai della casa (nulla di trascendentale ma di tutto rispetto! . Io ho preso gamberi al vapore con avocado e salsa allo yogurt, ottimi e molto delicati, mentre il mio compagno ha scelto un'insalata di polipo croccante su un letto di purè di patate (buono ma ho preferito il mio! . Poi abbiamo deciso di dividerci il secondo, un fritto misto di pesce e patate: mi sarei aspettata il classico piattone esagerato di frittura e invece devo dire che le quantità sono contenute, fortunatamente per la dieta! Infine, non ci siamo fatti mancare il dessert: mentre il mio compagno ha preferito una sfogliatina con mascarpone e fragole, io ho scelto un semifreddo con salsa di mango e cioccolato. Il conto non economicissimo ma rapportato alla qualità dei piatti: comunque lo consiglio vivamente!"

"We 've been to Alla Trotta Blu three or four times over the past few years and we have always enjoyed the cuisine, as well as the friendly service. New owners took over this restaurant in December 2012 and unfortunately, I didn 't enjoy my meal as much as in the past. The setting/location is stunning, situated among the green forests of Caneva and the Pedemontana and along a pond stocked with trout, which eventually end up on your dinner plate. The outdoor terrace, on a nice day, is a relaxing place to unwind and leave all stress behind. Ducks geese float by and provide peaceful entertainment for all. The new owners made some design changes with new modern lighting fixtures and a fresh coat of paint. The entire dining room in windowed, affording views of the peaceful nature outdoors. Tables are draped with white table clothes and the service ware (plates utensils) was satisfactory. The service provided by two young women was unpolished and not very professional. I believe they may be in the learning phase of waitressing. We were a group of four people on this Saturday evening and only one other couple showed up for dinner. The menu is extremely limited, offering a trout based tasting menu for 30 euro. There were also alla carte choices comprised of 3 antipasto dishes, three primi (pasta/soup) dishes and three entrees. I started with the white lasagna made with a trout ragu. The portion was small and had alternate green and white pasta layers with a cheesy bechamel. This was the best dish of my meal. Bravi! For my entree I had Trout Fish and Chips that were served rolled up in paper on a dinner plate. The fish was actually breaded and not batter dipped. The flavor was bland and unfortunately, the fried potatoes were soggy and mushy. The portion was of adequate size. I accompanied this with a side mixed salad that was fresh. I did taste samples from everyone else 's meals and found nothing to be remarkable. The raw trout carpaccio was just that, small cubes of trout, mounded into three piles on a serving dish. No condiment and very little flavor. The grilled trout platters were unremarkable as well. We decided not to have dessert; however the dessert menu sounded tempting, having 6 or 7 different desserts to choose from. Prices were reasonable with antipasti, primi and entrees ranging between 9 to15 euro. There was also a beef dish available on the menu for people who don 't want to eat trout. I don 't know if Japanese Sushi is still available as the previous owner 's wife was Japanese. Our meal, with two half liters of house wine, two bottles of water and two cafes totaled 105 euro. Upon paying our bill, we were offered complimentary glasses of homemade grappa. Alla Trota Blu is closed on Tuesdays and reservations can be made, though not necessary."

"I was with a group of friends eating. very valid food and staff even more valid. excellent water selection, from natural to sparkling. The only negative point is the beer glass. I ordered a beer from the middle and they brought it to me in a glass never seen, very weird (I'm drawing pictures)! finishing beer was almost an enterprise given the high dripping rate. I almost thought I'd pour it into the cup, but it didn't seem to me. Update: I also saw people getting wine in that strange glass."
