"Every year when we come to Brunssum it is a tradition to head to the infamous Canadian Corner. The atmosphere is great. Rustic charm, birch trees stretching up to the ceiling and lights and candles all over the place. The greeting is always warm and friendly. The Mounty steak, a sumptuous portion of 'dead cow ' baked in a skillet with the Chef 's sauce and veggies filling the pan. I asked for it medium rare, which is a challenge when the meat goes in the oven, but tonight he hit it bang on. Excellent. The fries a new supplier we were told) were nice and crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside. My only complaint was that I had ordered the wedge potatoes a little mix-up in the kitchen) but I was happy with the fries. The side of salad was okay. Nothing special there; however the home-made apple sauce was delicious. We also had the fish special which was a lightly breaded/fine crumbs plaice. It was nicely prepared. Good flavour, no lots of flavour. Nice seasoning! It went well with the salad that came with the order. Generous portions with tons of flavour. Not the quickest meal out of the kitchen, so I guess you have to wait for good food."

"Always a fun place and they spruced it up since our last visit in 2014. Seems brighter and more open. As always you start out with the requisite shot of ouzo to cleanse the palatte. The salad bar has all the basics to make a nice starter. The veggies were fresh, nice big chunks of feta and a good selection of oils to top it off. The chicken soup was okay, A bit thin but had nice big chunks of chicken. The side of bread was nothing special. The Thymeria platter, with chicken fillet, gyros, Greek sausage and souvlaki was enjoyed. I thought they did a wonderful job of the chicken fillet. Full of flavour and very tender. The souvlaki's were also nice and tender. The Greek sausage was okay and the gyros was a bit dry. Good size portion of yummy frites."

"Wandered in and were treated to an amazing evening. Love the decor with beautiful fall coloured leaves scattered about the floor. Beer selection is impressive although they were out of the one Chemay we wanted. The olive appetizers were scrumptious. We couldn 't get enough of heir home-made 'oil ' sauce that the olives came in. I can still taste it a day later and that is a good thing! We had the chicken sate and without doubt, the most tender chicken I can recall eating. Fabulous. The sate sauce was okay, Would have liked a little more 'edge ' to it but still it was fine. The portion of fries was HUGE. Very tasty with lots of little side dishes. The garlic mayo was made 'girly ' strength. Would have liked something stronger to deal with those pesky vampires! Overall a fantastic meal. Great service. A definite return visit is in order!"

"Pita gyros picked up from hoensbroek. Clearly stated that I don't want any sauce or vegetables in it. Come home, want some good food after being hungry for 2 hours already. Pita full of sauce, fries, and vegetables... 16 to 17 small pieces of meat in it, far too little and completely dried out and rock hard. This is really scandalous. scammers. That's how I can make money too... was the 1st time and the last time. I went all out for that... Making mistakes is human, but also delivering poor quality and a few pieces of meat that can be counted on 2 hands was the last straw. Worst greek ever! No doubt. Got a response back from that flap turd with all kinds of apologies. Service is also hard to find. That jerk indicated that I live 15 km away and therefore had dry and bad meat.. it was 4.7 km to be exact. Everything was closed in hoensbroek otherwise I wouldn't have come there anyway.. It doesn't matter either.. Even if I came from Amsterdam I should still get fresh and decent quality. I also don't understand what the driving distance has to do with the amount and quality of the food... that greedy green dog that it is. Again, to make mistakes is human but intentionally poor quality and literally delivering 16 to 17 (I could literally count them so few) pieces has nothing to do with mistakes. This was done deliberately. . . So you just keep making excuses for yourself. Half a kilo of dry and bad meat next time? No thanks.. as if you suddenly started buying better meat... Just close this place. Simple enough. Swindler... and there is nothing else behind it. Make sure you and your cook check the food before you give it to the customer. if I had worked there I would have immediately sounded the alarm that the gyros (and who knows the rest of the menu) is simply bad and dry and little... and then dared to ask 8 euros. You can keep that free sandwich. Don't waste gas for Z quality again. Even if you throw in half a kilo of gyros instead of 75 grams. It wouldn't have been more. Can't believe people are in there. Those customers either don't know what's good or I'm the only unlucky person who was cheated with poor quality that day. Can't imagine... That out of the whole batch of gyros that day, I've been the only one with bad food. Do you have something to think about. Do something with it I would say instead of being a victim. "Wij hadden 1 van de kleine kamers met trap waardoor het bereiken van de slaappositie wel een uitdaging was. Verder veel op stap dus dat de kamer klein is vind ik geen ramp. Het was netjes en schoon, waterflesje dat we gebruikt hadden werd netjes weer aangevuld. Ook de handdoeken die we opgehangen hadden voor hergebruik werden vervangen. Bij ontbijt prima service, attent, vriendelijk, alles werd bijgevuld. De locatie is prima maar wel vervoersmiddel nodig om iets te doen. Ik kan me voorstellen dat als je in hoogseizoen de hoofdprijs betaald dat je denkt hmmm, voor voor ons was het nu prima kwaliteit/prijsverhouding. (Let wel op: kleine extra dingen, bv uurtje later uitchecken is gelijk €25 Dus eerst je tas in de auto en dan nog even op het heerlijke terras natafelen met een boek."
