I ate the best lemon pie in my life at the Café de la Paix!! (A real taste of lemon, not too much sugar and air. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture. The frame is beautiful and the servers very pleasant. Thank you!

I'm actually sitting in this fine bar/restaurant after a very enjoyable breakfast. This place was the former entrance to a stylish theatre that sadly changed into a cinema many years ago. But here the grand art nouveau decor survives and continues to delight today's visitor....Around me are a range of clients from shoppers with baskets of produce from the adjacent market to students chatting over a coffee. The brewery, Café de la Paix in La Rochelle, faces Place de Verdun. This mythical and beautiful place has a beautiful temporal setting that I particularly love. Near the city centre, this is the ideal stage before shopping or after. Personally, I had a morning appointment and went to take a second breakfast before returning to work. I arrived when the croissants came out of the oven, it was perfect to accompany my latte coffee. The young waitress was very friendly and effective. Thank you for the moment. Nice tasting. This establishment, which remains open, is indeed a historic monument. located in the building that, in the xviii century, was the hospital of Saint-Etienne, has views of the place of verdun. In 1793, the hospital was divided into two: the military cafeteria and a varied theatre. the division continues, currently, with the olympia cinema on one side and the coffee of the paix, created in its current form in 1900, on the other. the living room with decoration belle style epoque, seduces by such ceilings decorated with stucco, as well as floral paintings and so walls full of mirrors.
