Cafe Rouge Greenwich

Kind of made the mistake of eating here after a trip to Paris the weekend before.

Went here in the evening, this little Cafe is nestled in Greenwich and absolutely adorable.

Booked afternoon tea for my daughter her Nan Step mum myself. Table was not even cleaned, floor was a mess, customers being turned away as no staff, was given the wrong afternoon tea selection from what I had pre ordered,was given the extra scones which I did not book and then charged the extra per person, Had to ask for drinks order to be taken 15 mins after being seated then had to ask again when we wanted Tea, Toilets were awful clearly not been cleaned. All in all very disappointing visit

Disappointing! Dirty crockery! I was told the dish washer was not washing the crockery effective enough. A real put off I asked for some water and serviettes just to clean our teacups and saucers. The jug containing our tea looked as if it had only been rinsed out and not washed! The small jug of milk had dirt in it but was quickly changed when I brought it to their attention. The food was mediocre and not worth the price. I certainly wouldn’t be going back there or recommending anyone to dine there.

Been here before but this time the meal was terrible mine was so hot it burned my throat obviously done in micro wave and not allowed to settled before bringing out to the table ,but my husbands meal a pie…. well the pasty was so hard had to use a knife and knock it in after a few tries just broke the surface he sent it back ,paid for mine mine and left the lady serving gave my husband a free drink as compensation for a bad experience Who do you employ a chief from hell !!! Stopped for an early dinner as we walked around the very interesting area around the Cutty Sark staying on the Isle of Dogs we had walked though the pedestrian tunnel under the Thames. Spacious comfortable dining area we decided to eat inside as it was quite a cool evening. Waitress was attentive and friendly drinks (Grafort Sauvgnon Blanc and Leffe) arrived quickly and orders were taken for Seabass an Vegetarian Wellington with butternut squash. Both were well cooked as usual with Cafe Rouge lovely new potatoes with the Seabass fillet and our meal was easy and enjoyable. Recommended.

An insult to French food and service. I took a party of 11 for lunch and even though the place was basically empty they still managed to get our order wrong and my meal came late. We waited ages between courses to distract staff so we could order again. Only half of the plates from our mains were cleared due to a change in shift so I cleared the table myself and than asked again for someone to take our dessert order. The decor is old and now realise the place is closing but you could at least clean marked dirty bathroom doors and try and keep the place presentable. Sooner it closes the better.

My partner and I went for a coffee yesterday. We sat outside and my partner went in to order, only to be told that the restaurant was closing. It was full of customers all being served. Confused, I then went in, and suddenly as a white women (my partner is a black, African man) it was ok for me to order drinks. The woman who refused to serve my partner was clearly being racist, and looking at other reviews of Cafe Rouge in Greenwich, this is not the first time this has happened. This is disgusting!!!! It's 2023 and this s**t is still happening. There are laws against this kind of discrimination. Cafe rouge, you should be ashamed. Speisekarte ansehen
