"Awful experience. Booked a table for 6pm and was ignored for 10 minutes by staff members who didn’t know how to access the bookings info. After 20 mins finally we were given a table and told to order at the bar. Ordered a jug of sangria and was charged £2 service charge?? Then by 645pm we were still waiting for our drink only to go to the bar to be laughed at and told they forgot to bring it! Took it back to the table and realised the porcelain jug was cracked and chipping into the drink… we weren’t offered an alternative eventually we left at 7pm after demanding a refund spent an hour there and had zero service, no drink, and the owner is more concerned with parading around taking selfies. Absolute joke of a place much like Boujee a few doors down!"

I enjoyed the ambience, it was a beautiful spot to hang out

The restaurant was closed when we arrived at our reserved time, which we were not informed about beforehand. It was quite disappointing.

We travelled all the way from LONDON To be told (when we sat down to order) there not serving food. My partners birthday was ruined. I received two phone calls asking if I was still coming, no mention of no food.

Really poor service, place was empty but took almost an hour to get one round of drinks out! Starters and mains all came out together so everything was cold! Overpriced food and drinks, two diet cokes came to almost £8!

karneval is more like a party than a restaurant and a bar. a dj turns the discs while the patrons dance and the eating is delicious. that is very focused on the 18-30 market and I am surprised that it was not packed. it should have been.

I had made a reservation for my birthday on September 24th and received a reminder email on the 23rd, only to find out that the restaurant was closed! It would have been considerate for them to inform guests in advance so that we could make other arrangements. It's unfortunate, as I was really looking forward to a great night there.

I didn't see it stated anywhere when booking that food started at 3pm otherwise i would of booked for later than 2.30pm. We travelled from Birmingham and We were really excited to try the food here but kitchen were running behind and estimated 3.15 before we could order but we had another reservation at 4pm. I can imagine with more customers and food flowing it would be a nice vibe.

Absolutely awful! I had reserved a table for a friend's special birthday, but no one greeted us when we arrived. After waiting for a while and still not being attended to, we finally seated ourselves. There was no food waiting for us at the table, and still no one communicated with us about what was going on. The bar service was severely lacking; despite the restaurant being almost empty, we had to wait a long time just for a drink. We ended up without food or even drinks! The birthday celebration was completely ruined. I will not be returning!

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
