"Judging by previous reviews, I guess we must have caught Tinchite on an off day. We'd booked, but the place seemed empty when we arrived, and the waiter when he finally appeared surprised by our presence. Apart from the caponata, which was delicious, nothing else that we ordered tasted fresh. We struggled to get the king prawns four for 25 euros, no sides out of their shells. The mixed grilled vegetables were burned and rubbery, in fact virtually inedible, and the octopus salad was bland all octopus and no salad. I can't remember the last time we left so much restaurant food uneaten, which is a terribly wasteful thing to do. But it just didn't taste good, which for 105 euros for two (including a nice but not amazing bottle of wine) shouldn't happen."

"We wanted a nice piece of ribeye as we've had a nice pizza and pasta already, so meat was a good option. As we were talking to this nice couple from Trapani they suggested this place for a nice piece of meat. The place has a lovely shop selling its own produce, all you can imagine Italian delicacies. Unfortunately I couldn't stock on fresh stuff as we were traveling by car and the day after we had a full day traveling to Enna and the to Pozallo. So we went straight to the restaurant which is right next to the shop. The restaurant is nothing special but I have to say that the staff was very nice. The manager owner came over after a few mins and explained how it works. There is a butcher counter full of nice cuts of meat and there specialities all prepared and aged at this shop. For example cold cuts and cheeses or else different sausages, different meat involtini and cuts of meat mainly beef. Argentinian , Irish , Australian , a good choice) We decided to ha e a platter of cold cuts and cheeses accompanied with their homemade marmalades. The cold cuts were really good especially the mortadella , it was out of this world the flavor and the ham . You have to go and try it to really taste the goodness and flavors. Then we had a nice piece of Argentinian Rib eye which was perfectly cook to our taste accompanied with a salad and toast potatoes . The only thing I would suggest to this restaurant is to be more creative with veg and salads as it would make it more then a perfect meal. Otherwise I wish we had the chance to visit again as I loved your food and there was a few items on the menu I really wished I could taste."

"Ristorante eccezionale. Ovviamente non è un ristorante stellato e l'arredamento è un po' da osteria vecchia maniera, ma il cibo è veramente ottimo, con materie prime di qualità trattate con esperienza e delicatezza. La calamarata con rana pescatrice vale il viaggio ancor più che la visita alla splendida Erice. Inoltre, ho apprezzato oltremodo la velocità con cui hanno servito i miei figli, segno di grande esperienza e di savoir faire della cucina. Per darvi un'idea della qualità del cibo, i miei figli di 3 e 5 anni hanno voluto il bis del pesce spada. E i bambini a quell'età non mentono mai."

"Ogni volta che vado ad Erice non posso non fermarmi a gustare l'ottima e deliziosa cucina del Ristorante Monte San Giuliano. La qualità del cibo è davvero superlativa, il personale molto attento e preparato. Sia il menù mare che terra godono di primi piatti davvero pieni di sapori mediterranei. I vari antipasti della casa sono super consigliati. Per i secondi lasciatevi consigliare dal personale. Davvero bravi. Ho già riprenotato per la prossima domenica."
